As one of the first resorts in Orlando, Florida outside of the Disney properties, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort was an extreme pleasure to stay at. With 815 guest rooms and suites, 24 hour fully loaded gym, half acre pool with 12 waterfalls, 9 hole pitch and putt, basketball, volleyball, rock climbing wall, paddle boats, canoes, 4 Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses, shuttles to and from various amusement parks, over 65,000 square feet of meeting/wedding space, and MORE!

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort King View Room

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress was kind enough to upgrade my travel buddy and me to a King View Room. We were extremely pleased with the amenities of the room. And the welcome gift of bread aand dip to greet us as we entered our room helped hold us over until dinner time.

A little welcome snack before dinner

For the room, we had a very well spread out room which included a king sized bed, flat screen tv, a mini fridge (that was actually usable, YES!), a great desk area next to our window, a lavish bathroom with great lighting and an AWESOME shower with a waterfall feature (my favorite)!

I love rooms that offer big bathrooms with great lighting.  When traveling with another person, having enough space to get ready in the morning without constantly bumping into each other is a key to happiness.

The Pool at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort

With any Orlando vacation, a pool & hot tub in an absolute must after walking miles and miles around the local theme parks. Whether it is a day with the kids, or a relaxing afternoon with your significant other by the pool having cocktails, this pool area is a must see.

With over 800,000 gallons of water spread across a half-acre pool area, there is plenty of room to swim and adventure in. See the video below for our adventure through this HUGE pool area at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort!

The Lakehouse Restaurant at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort

At the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort, there are two in-house restaurants, Hemingway’s and Lakehouse.

While here, we had to give at least one of them a try. Kiersten and I had a FANTASTIC meal that was complimented with drinks, a delicious French Onion Soup Skillet, 2 New York Steaks, and delicious Praline Bars for dessert.

Shuttle services to Theme Parks

When originally planning our trip to Orlando, we made it a priority to select a property with shuttle services to and from Disneyworld and Universal Studios Orlando. While these services are great, there are a few stipulations to them. With the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort, they are extremely regimented in their times of departing and returning. If you are 30 seconds late, they WILL leave without you.

For Disneyworld, the shuttles depart at 8:20 am and 10:20 am directly for Magic Kingdom’s Ticketing & Transportation center – the ride is about 20 minutes. From there, you are able to take a boat or the monorail to the Magic Kingdom or catch a shuttle to another park. When paying hundreds of dollars for your park admission, every minute counts so be sure to wake up early to maximize your time.

Save on Orlando's Best Theme Parks!

When wanting to return to the property, the shuttles pick up from Magic Kingdom’s Ticketing & Transportation Center, which is separate from the park itself, so make sure you factor in time to get to the transportation center. The shuttles pick up at 6 pm, 8 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm. Be sure to plan ahead for shuttles to and from the hotel.

While this service does help you avoid parking fees, it does take a bit of planning and time management. Be sure to chat with the extremely helpful concierge desk to book your seats!

The Bald Thoughts

I give the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando a 9.8 out of 10. The room, amenities, activities, and restaurants are fantastic! The only downside of this hotel is the transportation system isn’t as flexible as I would have liked, but it still is very much worth it! At around $179/night + $30/night resort fee, there is immense value to a great stay for a getaway with your significant other or a great time at the various amusement parks.

  1. What a fun trip and awesome location! It’s nice to hear that the resort isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg to stay, even with so many amazing amenities. I would love to take a few dips in that pool, and I love the idea of the rainfall shower! Awesome!

  2. Waw, this sounds like a great getaway!! The rooms looks super comfortable, the pool lots of fun and it’s so convenient that they offer shuttle services to the Theme Parks! Not only a money but probably also a time saver. And that steak looks so yummy 😀

  3. It’s nice when a resort has such great amenities and doesn’t cost a fortune! Having a service to Disney is really great too, I remember that being a hassle! It sounds like you had a great trip. Oh, and I’m so jealous of that steak!

  4. It makes such a difference staying somewhere with a Disney shuttle service. We drove every day we went and getting out was such a pain. This place looks incredible. Just the right amount of luxury!

  5. This does look truly grand. As you rightly mentioned this has every imaginable amenity. And it is so beautifully designed as well. I gotto visit it soon.

  6. Hyatt properties have always been my favourite. In fact a friend of mine works as a chef in Hyatt in New Delhi, India. I loved the picture of the poolside of Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort. And those pillows on the bed! What’s not to love?

  7. 9.8 out of 10 sounds like really great and there you did mention at the top that it is one of the best resorts in Orlando.
I like spacious washrooms too. And I always appreciate free shuttle services to the main attractions.
