After months of planning, I launched my podcast this weekend. The We Travel There podcast interviews local experts from around the world to uncover the hidden gems of their city. We’ll share the best things to do, eat, drink, and see from a local’s point of view so you can travel like a local when you visit their town.

The Bald Thoughts
Starting this podcast has been a lot of work. Honestly, it is way more time-consuming than writing blog posts. But it is also a lot of fun and a great way to meet new people and learn more about cities from a local’s point of view. I hope that you like the show!
I would love it if you subscribed, left a review, and shared the podcast with your friends. Good luck in the sweepstakes!
That sounds like a fun idea. Thanks for expanding your blog information!
Thanks! Have you had a chance to listen to any yet? What cities should I add to the list?
Good luck for continued success.
Thank you, J. I appreciate the kind words.
Awesome!
Thanks, Peter. Which episode is your favorite so far?
I can’t wait to hear the Oahu podcast. I’ve explored that island more than any other destination, but I’m always discovering new things.
Thanks, Taryn! The Oahu episode will be released September 24th. Hope you enjoy the rest of the episodes!
Sounds good, good luck!
Thanks, Aleks. What’s your favorite part of the show?
Looking forward to Cancun!
Me too! The interview timing was perfect because my wife and I are taking a kid-free vacation there in a couple of months. Jay Kali was an amazing interview!
I cannot seem to get to the podcasts where are they listed? I would like to know more about turks and caicos it you happen across there. Or New Orleans.
Hi Jenny, if you search on iTunes for “We Travel There” you can find and listen very easily. Or you can go to WeTravelThere.com and there are links in the right sidebar for the different platforms the podcast is available.
Each episode (hyperlinked above) has a media player embedded at the top of the page so you can listen to the interview from your computer as well.
Thanks for the suggestions of Turks & Caicos and New Orleans. Both great places to visit. I’ll add them to the list!
I went to where it says five episodes but I see a page with a lot of other stuff and did not see the episode.
Here are the links to Apple Podcasts, Android, and Spotify.
Some places in Japan, maybe Okinawa.. Awesome podcast! Cool destinations like Vancouver and Hong Kong on the list which is very nice
Thanks, Calvin. Hong Kong will release on October 1st and Vancouver will be October 8th. I’m looking for someone to interview for Japan. If you know of someone, please let me know. One of our writers, Charlie, loves Japan, so he might come on to share his favorite spots.
Sounds like a new adventure for you. Hope it all works out!
Thanks, bud! Any favorite episodes so far? What city would you most like to see interviewed?
I would love to hear a podcast on Seattle and the surrounding area!
Awesome! I’ve been talking with Jon and Ben from NoMasCoach about being on the show. These guys are experts in Seattle! I know they’ll have some amazing tips to share.

Charleston would be a great place to add to your show. Can’t wait to hear more.
Thanks, LaTanya. I have a few friends in the Charleston area. I’ll be sure to reach out to them and ask them to be on the show! We do have someone for Savannah, which is close by. But we do need to fill in that spot on the map! Have a great day.
I’d love to see lots of Hawaii!!!
I love the podcasts! I need to go to Texas for some breakfast tacos!!
Thanks, David. Austin has such a wonderful food culture. And Noah really knows about food! Can’t wait to visit Austin again.
I’d love to hear what you have to say about Japan.
Thanks, Lisa. Japan has such an intriguing culture. I haven’t been yet, but my writer, Charlie, says that Japan is his favorite country to visit. I’ll definitely be looking to interview some people about Japan.
OMG awesome! I have never been anywhere like that!
Thanks, Amy. What has stopped you from traveling? We’d love to show you how to make your travel dreams a reality. Which destination would you want to visit first?
I would like to see New London, Connecticut added.
Thanks, Donna. I have never been there. What’s your favorite thing about New London, CT? Any help you can provide in finding someone from there would be appreciated.
Good read!
Thanks, Jessica. What did you like most?
I think you should add Key West, Florida to your list.
Thanks, Barbara. It’s been a long time since I visited Key West, but I really enjoyed it as a child. I’ll look for someone! Please subscribe to the podcast so you’ll be the first to know when that episode goes live.
I would love to see a Podcast from New Orleans. That is one of the places on my bucket list along with some of the Podcast you already did. Love to travel and love to see others pictures or videos of places I would love to see.
Thanks, Kimberly. New Orleans is such a fun place to visit. Such great history and amazing food. I’ll definitely be looking to interview someone from New Orleans.

I would love to hear an episode about San Antonio.
Thanks, Karley. I have Shannyn Allen of The Wonderluster signed up to speak about San Antonio. We’re just waiting to schedule the interview. Please subscribe so you’ll be the first to know when the episode goes live.
I loved this Podcast! Come to Vancouver Island please 🙂
Thanks, Erin! I actually interviewed Ricky Shetty of DaddyBlogger.com about Vancouver, Canada. That episode will release on October 8th. Hope you like it!
I would love it if you featured New Zealand! I have always wanted to travel there. I enjoyed this episode because I have driven through Nashville but did not know a lot about it.
Thanks, Natalie! New Zealand is on my bucket list as well. That would be a great interview. Glad that you liked the Nashville episode. It’s my favorite episode primarily because it is my new hometown and we’re really looking forward to exploring everything it has to offer.
Congrats! I’m excited to hear from guests. ID love to hear about Perth, Australia and Barcelona!
Thanks, Katy! I’m really pumped for awesome this is going so far. I don’t know anyone in those locations (yet), so if you have someone in mind, please have them submit their info at WeTravelThere.com/guest.
Sounds like a good idea. I’m interested in your Oahu and Cancun information, and always want to hear a local’s point of view on non-tourist restaurants and activities. Thanks.
Thanks, Joe. Oahu just released last week, so listen and let me know what you think. Cancun will be in the next few weeks.
I really enjoyed your recent podcast. I think you need to do episodes on Tucson and Sedona, Arizona, Coos Bay, Oregon and Malaysia.
Thanks, Nicole! I found someone this weekend for Portland and working on someone for Phoenix. Stay tuned. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
I enjoyed the podcast! Thanks for creating it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on what to do in Alabama.
Thanks, Meghan. Where in Alabama will you be? There’s a lot to do in Huntsville and plenty along the coast in Mobile. I had the pleasure of touring Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville a couple of years ago. And the beer and food scene is really good! Mobile and the Gulf Coast offers great beaches at an affordable price. I haven’t been in a long time, but plan to now that we’re local in Nashville and it’s not too far of a drive.
The podcast was great, I haven’t thought about where outside of Canada I would like to go. Only ever traveled out of Canada once to Texas and honestly want to explore more of Eastern Canada.
Thanks, Tara. I appreciate the feedback. Hopefully, this podcast will encourage you to travel more. There is an amazing world out there waiting for you to visit and explore.
I really enjoyed it. I would love catalina island off the coast of California
Thanks, Monique. I’m glad you liked it. Catalina is a fun island to explore. I’ve only been there once for part of a day while on a cruise down to Mexico. I’d like to go back and spend the night on the island. If you know of anyone that could speak about Catalina, please let me know.
Sounds great we are doing more traveling now that our kids are grown. I’m looking forward to hearing about Oahu, Hawaii as we plan on visiting Hawaii next year.
Thanks, Susan. I’m glad that you are traveling more. It can be tough when kids are young and in school. Let me know what you think of the Oahu episode. Have a great time in Hawaii!
I enjoyed the podcast and am looking forward to the Hong Kong episode. It seems like such a fascinating place.
Thank you, Mary. The Hong Kong episode is live. Please listen and let me know what you think.
THRILLED to see Medellin on the list. I’ve been there 4 times in the last 18 months and have totally fallen in love with the city. In fact, I hope to move there full time asap. Check out my free online magazine below about visiting, investing & retiring in this city which truly enjoys perpetual springtime.
Thanks, John. I’m glad that you love the city so much. I’ve heard great things. My buddy Joseph Hogue of Peer Finance 101 has been living there for several years. It should be a very interesting interview. I’m excited to learn about Medellin and Colombia.
I have to download an app to listen? Podcasts are not great for me due to poor hearing, I was hoping to find a link with captioning capabilities. I’ll just stick with the other entries I guess.
Sorry, Roberta, I don’t have that functionality yet. Much of what we cover in the podcast is included in the show notes for each episode. I think we include enough of the personality of the local expert and the city in the show notes that would help everyone enjoy a better experience when they visit the cities we interview. Good luck with the sweepstakes.
Las Vegas is always a fun place to explore! I enjoyed the info about Austin!
Glad you liked Austin. We have another episode about Austin from a different perspective that will launch in early 2019.
And we have someone from TravelZork coming onto the show to talk about how to use Las Vegas gaming loyalty programs to your advantage.
Stay tuned for those episodes!
