We’ve certainly enjoyed interacting with the readers at Boarding Area for the past week.  We appreciate you taking time to read a blog that you may not know much about and for all of your comments.  It would be great if you continued to interact with us by reading the blog and via social media.

A Recap of The Last Week

We recently launched a daily summary post called “The Morning Shave“.  It consists of some of the most valuable articles we’ve read and a short summary of our thoughts so you can decide whether it is worth reading.  Based on the feedback and response, we’re going to continue publishing this series.

We started out the week by introducing ourselves so you can understand who we are and why we write.

Tyler wrote about our United Club lounge pass sweepstakes.  We hope that the winner enjoys the United Lounge on his upcoming trip!

I own a timeshare, just like many of you, so we shared a way to get complimentary Wyndham Rewards Gold status.

And I shared a review of my recent stay at the new Kimpton Journeyman in Milwaukee.  It was an awesome Father-Daughter trip made even better by the excellent staff at the Journeyman.

Tyler shared his thoughts on which co-branded card is better going forward to members of Marriott and SPG.

Charlie wrote about the unique experience that is the Marina Sands Bay Hotel infinity edge pool from his recent trip to Singapore.

I shared my weekly series of “This Week in Travel” where I share my efforts to earn and burn miles and points so my family can travel the world.  Many people appreciate the real life examples of travel using points and the thought process that goes into deciding what to miles & points earn, how to earn them, and what’s the best way to spend them.

We ended the week with another giveaway.  This time, the sweepstakes was for a $75 Southwest travel voucher.  The winner will be announced on Wednesday, so stay tuned!

One of my personal finance blogger buddies, Eric from Personal Profitability, did a guest post talking about how miles and points changed his life.  That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but there is some great truth to the fact that most of us travel far more than we would if we had to pay cash for our travel.  To me, those experiences are life-changing… so maybe Eric wasn’t exaggerating after all?

Tyler did a review of his recent stay at the Westin Seattle.  They gave him a nice welcome amenity, but (in my opinion), it still pales in comparison to what I get from Kimpton.

And I finished off the week with a post about our favorite travel suitcase for kids.  We really like these suitcases… and it was another excuse to show off my kids.  What can I say, I’m a proud Dad.
