W Punta de Mita Hotel

The W Punta de Mita Hotel opened its door on June 26, 2016, and is located 50-minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I’ve been eyeing this hotel for some time now and when I came across a cheap flight to Puerto Vallarta, I knew I had to stay here.

Lobby

I checked in the lobby around 4:00 pm but the front desk told me my room was not ready yet. Instead of waiting around, I went downstairs with my friends to start drinking by the pool.

Pool

The pool itself was very shallow even in its deep end (4ft). Two jacuzzis were located to the right and could fit about 10 people in one.  Plenty of lounge chairs were available to the rear and right side of the pool. Big cabana’s for groups were located on the left side.

Located near the ocean was this beach bar. It was separated from the pool if you wanted to drink by the beach. I fell in love with the designed of the tiki bar.

The weather wasn’t too hot but it was very humid. No better way to hydrate yourself with some fresh coconut.

The view was absolutely breathtaking. Even sitting down, I was still able to see the waves crash on the beach.

The Baldthoughts

The level of hospitality at this resort was by far the best I have ever experienced. Talking to a few employees, they told me they work 6 days a week 12-hour shifts and some live about 1 hour and a half away! It shocked me how positive and cheerful they were every day I saw them. It felt like they lived in the resort.

As I mentioned, the hotel is located 50 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta and going into town will cost you about $80 USD one way. If you want to explore the city then I would suggest another hotel nearby the city center. The W Punta de Mita hotel is great for couples or a group of friends who want to just relax and have fun.
