Capital One made a big splash in December 2018 when they added transfer partners. Honestly, many cardholders were underwhelmed because the casual traveler had not heard of many of them before. With the addition of JetBlue as a Capital One transfer partner, all of that changes! And to build the excitement, Capital One and JetBlue are offering a 50% transfer bonus for a limited time.

Capital One Transfer Partners

When Capital One first announced their travel partners, they hinted that more transfer partners would be added. With the addition of JetBlue, Capital One now has 15 transfer partners for cardholders to choose from:

  • Aeromexico (Club Premier)
  • Air Canada (Aeroplan)
  • Air France KLM (Flying Blue)
  • Alitalia (MilleMiglia Program)
  • Avianca (LifeMiles)
  • Cathay Pacific (Asia Miles)
  • Emirates (Emirates Skywards)
  • Etihad Airways (Etihad Guest)
  • EVA Air (Infinity MileageLands)
  • Finnair (Finnair Plus)
  • Hainan Airlines (Fortune Wings Club)
  • JetBlue (TrueBlue)
  • Qantas (Qantas Frequent Flyer)
  • Qatar Airways (Privilege Club)
  • Singapore Airlines (KrisFlyer)

If you ask any of your experienced travel friends, you’ll know that these international airlines offer tremendous value for aspirational travel experiences.

Which Capital One Credit Cards Can Transfer Miles?

The Capital One Venture Card receives most of the attention on TV (thank you Jennifer Garner), but it is not the only Capital One credit card that can transfer miles to these partner airlines.

Capital One Venture Card

There are actually four Capital One credit cards that are eligible to transfer:

  • Capital One Venture
  • Capital One VentureOne
  • Capital One Spark Miles
  • Capital One Spark Miles Select

For the latest offers and details on these credit cards, check out our credit card marketplace to see which one works best for you.

Capital One’s Advantage Over Other Programs

Capital One has one distinct advantage over other programs from Chase, Citibank, American Express, and others. Most banks make you wait until your statement closes before they will make your points and miles available to use. With Capital One, your points are available within 1 to 3 business days after you make the purchase.

So, if you need extra points to book that next award redemption, Capital One may be the right bank for you. Because who knows if that flight of a lifetime will be available 30 days from now when your other bank transfers the points into your account?

50% Bonus JetBlue Transfer Promotion

For a limited time, Capital One cardholders will receive a 50% bonus when transferring to JetBlue. Transfers made between May 1 and May 31, 2019, by 11:59 PM Eastern time will receive 750 JetBlue TrueBlue points for every 1,000 Capital One miles.

After May 31st, the regular Capital One transfer ratio to JetBlue will be 2:1. In other words, for every 2,000 Capital One miles you transfer, you’ll receive 1,000 JetBlue points.

JetBlue flies to more than 100 destinations and operates over 1,000 flights per day. They also offer flight promotions on a regular basis, which means that you can redeem for even greater value! For example, as I’m writing this article, JetBlue is offering flights starting at only 2,200 points.

Keep in mind that JetBlue recently announced their intention to fly to London (in 2020) and Ecuador (in late 2019), pending government approvals.

The Bald Thoughts

I’m really excited for the addition of JetBlue to the Capital One transfer partners roster. The international airlines are great options for amazing vacations, but traveling across the ocean isn’t always an option. Flying JetBlue Mint has been a goal of mine. Now that I finally got approved for a Capital One Venture Card, I’m totally stoked that I can take advantage of the transfer bonus and make it happen this year.

Are you excited for JetBlue being added as a Capital One transfer partner? Which airline will you transfer your Capital One miles to? Let me know in the comment section below.
