The Best and Worst Times to Travel for July Fourth Weekend. – People have been cooped up at home for too long and they’re looking to travel. I’ll be staying at home, but if you’re planning to go somewhere, take a look at this article to try to avoid the busiest travel times.

Airports test virtual queuing for security checkpoints. – This sounds like a great idea in theory, but many travelers can’t manage their 3-1-1 liquids and taking their shoes off. Here are some other ways to extend the life of your miles and points that don’t require losing any of them.

My new ‘trick’ for avoiding pesky resort and destination fees on last-minute stays. – When you have elite status, hotels are more likely to waive fees for you. This is one of the reasons why it pays to pick one hotel brand and focus your travels with it. You’ll earn & receive more benefits and they’ll take better care of you… even if it means that you have to spend a few more bucks a night picking your new “fave hotel brand” over others that are a little bit cheaper.
