Hainan Airlines Los Angeles to Chengdu
I came across a cheap economy flight to Beijing with a layover in Chengdu on Hainan Airlines earlier this month for $432 USD. Considering Hainan Airlines recently received 8th best overall airline and 11th best economy class award from Skytraxx World Airline Awards. I was curious how it compared with other Asian airlines flying Los Angeles.
Meal Service
I was surprised how well the rice was cooked. I’ve flown on other airlines where the rice was undercooked and a bit hard. I liked how they included a little packet of Sriracha sauce with their meal. It was the first time I’ve seen a Sriracha packet on an airline. The breakfast was average compared to most breakfast served on domestic U.S. flights.

Overall, my flight experience was pleasant and I had no major complaints. I would fly Hainan Airlines again and would recommend this airline for my friends who are trying to get to Asia on a budget.
