One of the most popular travel conferences each year is Frequent Traveler University (FTU). Several times a year, FTU holds a conference in different locations across the US to help educate travelers how to use airline miles and hotel points more effectively and provide a venue for networking among people that love to travel. The next FTU will be held in Chicago in November 2017. And I’m giving away two registration codes so you can win FTU Expo tickets!

What is FTU Expo vs. FTU Signature?
Travelers who have been involved with the miles and points world are generally familiar with FTU events. There is FTU Beginner, FTU Advanced, and FTU Signature.
In case you don’t win FTU Expo tickets, you can register for either FTU event here.
Both events will be held at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare. FTU has arranged a group rate of $109 per night and special pricing on parking of $3 for daytime guests. Overnight parking will still be charged the normal rate.
Chicago is a great town to get around without driving, so consider using public transportation, Uber or Lyft instead of driving and paying for parking. Click my referral links for a discount on your first ride!
FTU Signature
The FTU Signature event offers in-depth education sessions all levels of travelers, from beginners to advanced, over the course of 2 jam-packed days. Plus, there’s a Friday happy hour where you can be introduced to other travelers and your favorite bloggers.
Over Saturday and Sunday (Nov 18 & 19), there will be over 20 sessions to choose from in an intimate environment. Bring your note pads and your questions because there is a lot of information being shared… and the group sizes are fairly small, which provides an excellent opportunity for the speaker to answer your questions.Registration is $249 per person.
Registration is $249 per person if you don’t win FTU Expo tickets.
FTU Expo
FTU Expo is a new concept from the FTU team. It is a one-day event on Saturday, November 18, 2017, that overlaps with FTU Signature. There will be over 36,000 square feet for you to explore with 4 simultaneous seminar stages, 30 expert presenters, and 3,000 travelers and vendors.
A ticket to FTU Expo does not allow you to attend any of the FTU Signature presentations, but anyone with an FTU Signature registration can attend any of the FTU Expo that they want.
Registration is $39 per person if you don’t win FTU Expo tickets.
How do you win FTU Expo tickets?
I consider myself lucky to receive two (2) codes from the Frequent Traveler University team. Rather than use them myself or the Bald Thoughts team, I wanted to provide an opportunity to win FTU Expo tickets with our readers.
Each winner will win one (1) code that is good for one (1) free admission to the FTU Expo or a $39 discount on one (1) FTU Signature registration.
To enter to win FTU Expo tickets, simply comment below with one of the following by 11:59 PM Pacific time on Friday, September 8, 2017:
- What is your favorite travel hack that you learned at an FTU event?
- What do you hope to learn from FTU if you are able to attend?
The winner will be announced on Monday, September 11, 2017.
Please note that there is only one entry per person. Spam or inappropriate entries will be eliminated and not eligible for entry. We are not responsible for entries that are lost in transmission or affected by any errors or other difficulties. Only comments that are approved by someone from the Bald Thoughts’ team are eligible. Entries must be submitted by the deadline to be considered eligible for the sweepstakes. There are no alternative entry methods available.
The Bald Thoughts
I look forward to reading the comments about tips people have learned at FTU and what people are hoping to get out of FTU. I’ve attended several FTU events in the past and have really enjoyed them. It is a great opportunity to network with people who share the same travel passion and I know that you will leave the event with several actionable ideas that will improve your travel experiences going forward. Good luck and I hope that you are one of the people that win FTU Expo tickets.

What do you hope to learn from FTU if you are able to attend? I hope to learn more on the partner/alliance side of points and miles redemptions. I’m OK, for the most part, on earning, but the more nuanced redemptions are where the big prizes are found. Thank you for the giveaway.
Good luck Joe! There will be some pretty advanced sessions at FTU, so I hope you find what you are looking for.
I hope to learn where to start with cards, miles, and manufactured spending. I would love to attend Signature. Still hoping to make that happen.
This will be a great place for you to learn. We’re almost ready to launch a free email course helping you learn about miles and points. Please sign up for our newsletter to be the first to access it when it launches.
My purpose would be to learn to best utilize my points and miles. I’m sure that FTU would do this. I doubt there is any where else one can get this much info.
Ed, you’ll find what you’re looking for at FTU. Another valuable conference is Chicago Seminars, which is in October, a few weeks before FTU.
