Where is Aruba? And the next question was, what are the best things to do in Aruba? These were the most common questions I got from my friends and family when I told them I was traveling to the little island for a few days. Aruba sits 20 miles off the coast of Venezuela and is roughly 70 mi².  Even though Aruba is fairly small compared to other islands nearby, you can still have an amazing time in paradise!

Best Things To Do in Aruba – #3 Baby Beach

What’s the point of going to an island if you don’t take advantage of their prestige beaches? One of my favorite beaches in Aruba was Baby Beach. It sits on the southern point of the island and it is roughly 20 minutes from the airport. The turquoise waters and white sands made this beach stand out from the rest. The water was very shallow and clear, which made for awesome snorkeling!

Best Things To Do in Aruba – #2 ATV Tours

To my surprise, Aruba was very desert-like on the east side of the island. A great way to explore the island is by taking an ATV tour. It is 2nd on our list of the best things to do in Aruba. Depending on the company and package you buy you can visit a lot of points of interest on the tour. It was hitting so many to-dos all in one day.

On my tour, the ATV’s seemed brand new despite being used every day by tourists. The attention to detail to appearance and preventive maintenance the staff give to these ATV’s gave me the confidence to explore the island without worrying the ATV was going to break down.

Best Things to do in Aruba – #1 Seabob

I have been to a few tropical destinations, Hawaii, Phuket, and Belize to name a few but I have never seen or heard about Seabobbing (I’m not sure even that’s even a word?). Seabob is the most advanced personal watercraft which allows you to move both on and underwater.

Don’t let the small size fool you!

Each Seabob can go up to 11.1 mph and dive 10 feet in seconds! No need to worry about getting pressurized as you surface. During my tour, I got to see sea turtles and the sunken SS Antilla shipwreck.

Riding the Seabob was the best experience I’ve ever had in water! It’s definitely a must try! Once you try Seabob for yourself, you will know why it is #1 on our list of the best things to do in Aruba.

The Bald Thoughts

There are many things to do in Aruba but these three were my favorite activities. From casinos to water activities to straight tanning under the sun, Aruba offers a wide range of activities for any type of person. Aruba was an island I didn’t have too many expectations of because of how uncommon of a destination it is from Los Angeles. Others may beg to differ from the East coast where Southwest flies non-stop from Baltimore. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a weekend getaway, Aruba is a great island to explore.

    • Hi Boonie,
Thanks for reading my article. Yes, I agree with you. I thought it was going to be less expensive of a trip but everything on the island had similar pricing to being in Hawaii. I guess a small price to pay for being in paradise right?

    • Thanks Shelley! Have a great time on your trip. What are you planning to do while in Aruba? I’m totally jealous of all the fun Charlie had. Now I want to go and experience the island for myself.
