A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to return to the Stacking Benjamins podcast.  Previously, I had my travel hacking hat on, but this time the focus was on personal finance.  On Monday, the podcast was released on iTunes and Stitcher.  Were you able to listen?

Stacking Benjamins podcast

At the beginning of the episode Joe and OG (the hosts of the show) discuss a few finance articles in the news, then Joe invites us to be part of the “Round Table” in his Mom’s basement.

There was Joe, of course, from Stacking Benjamins.  Katie Brewer Ward from Your Richest Life financial planning was on from Dallas.  And Greg McFarlane from Control Your Cash was on, with his cats, from Las Vegas.

Starting at about the 13 minute mark of the podcast, we start the Round Table.

We discussed the upcoming SnapChat IPO and whether or not we recommend buying into it.

Then we talk about ways to make your retirement safer and protect yourself from a market downturn.

Finally, we discuss taking charge of your credit and mention a few ways to keep track of your credit score.

At the end, each of us Round Table participants talk about what’s happening on our sites.  For me, it was posting the latest results of the $1,000 Investment Challenge and an upcoming post on Credit Cards That Offer Free Credit Scores (coming soon).

Conclusion of the Stacking Benjamins podcast

After the Round Table discussion is finished, Joe and OG read letters from listeners and offer their response.  Then, they spend a few minutes doing a review on a movie they watched.  Their goal is to review movies to keep you from spending money on box office duds, while having a few laughs along the way.

At the end of the podcast (around the 1 hour, 12 minute mark), Joe mentions that I do a lot of travel hacking so that my family and I can travel the world for close to free.  If you’d like a free consultation on how you can learn to travel for close to free, use this link or click on the image below.
