These American Attractions Defy the Laws of Gravity and Physics — or Do They?

Many of these attractions are simply tourist traps to support the local economy. However, they can be worth the money for a brief tour if you have young kids or enjoy science. These mind-bending experiments defy the laws of nature as gravity, balance and other senses get thrown off-kilter. Do you think these kinds of activities are worth the price of admission?

No-Frills Flying Emerges as Travel’s Painful, Greener Future.

Life is all about choices. We love to travel, but doing so takes a toll on the environment. Of course, technology is making planes lighter and more efficient. But the quickest way to reduce the impact per traveler is to cram more passengers into each plane. For all that Spirit, Ryanair, and others do to frustrate us… who knew that they were the most friendly to our ecosystem?

A New Floating Pool Will Reclaim NYC’s Rivers For Public Swimming.

Ask any New Yorker, and they’ll gladly tell you to avoid swimming in the Hudson River. Well, a new concept is planned for 2025 where you’ll be able to swim in the river without getting sick. This 9,000 square foot swimming experience features filtered water and two swimming areas for guests to enjoy. Would you buy a ticket to swim here?

Breeze launches nearly a dozen new routes in latest expansion.

I love seeing new airlines launch and become successful. It provides more flight options for travelers, and the competition drives down prices with other airlines. Breeze just launched 11 new routes for the summer 2024 season, including adding Denver, Mobile, and Greenville-Spartanburg to its list. Buy tickets quickly because the airline typically offers $39 fares on new routes to introduce the airline to travelers. Book $39 flights by January 29th for travel through September 3rd.

JetBlue and Spirit Will Appeal Ruling That Blocked Merger

JetBlue has been trying to acquire Spirit Airlines, but it’s facing trouble with the DOJ and the courts. It ended its North East Alliance with American Airlines and has agreed to relinquish some gates to reduce the impact of the merger on competition. However, that wasn’t good enough for this judge who is worried that the merger could result in higher fares for passengers. Spirit Airlines has been losing money since 2020, and it may have to file for bankruptcy if the merger doesn’t go through. So, what happens if the merger doesn’t go through and the airline collapses? Travelers will be in an even worse situation. JetBlue is appealing the ruling… so stay tuned.
