The Morning Shave

Radisson Blu opens a resort on Aruba. – I’ve been wanting to visit Aruba for years. Now, it might be the right time since I’ll be able to cash in some Radisson Rewards points for the stay. The Radisson Blu Punta Cana opened in November 2020 and the Radisson Blu Grenada is coming soon.

Days Inn’s Coveted ‘Sunternship’ Is Back — and It’ll Pay You $10,000 to Travel the US This Summer. – Who wouldn’t want to get paid to travel this summer? This sounds like an amazing opportunity for the right person. Are you going to apply?

are travel agents still useful

Best Hyatt hotels for suite redemptions. – I earned Hyatt Globalist status in January from the World of Hyatt promo that was available, so I’m looking for some stays to justify the money I spent on those hotel nights. Which of these Hyatt locations are your favorites?

U.S. Airlines Are Bringing Back Basic Economy Fare Restrictions. – Just when you thought it was safe to travel again and that the airlines were our buddies, they pull this stuff. 1. […] Bald Thoughts featured an article from Travel & Leisure in today’s morning shave that caught my eye and I thought it was worth sharing: Days Inn is offering a “Sunternship” job opportunity that essentially sounds like an Instagrammy travel influencer role that will include traveling to the “best Days Inn accommodations from Coast to Coast” for two weeks to document the experiences in photos on social media. Best of all, you can get paid $10,000 to do it. If you’ve got two weeks free this summer, social media savvy, and a sense of adventure, Days Inn might just hire you. […]

  2. I’ll take another points hotel in Aruba. I must be sitting on 500k Radisson points although Lazy Traveler’s recent huge article about options has me cogitating on some options.

I’m inordinately pleased to see Drew writing again although that’s tempered with sadness at seeing him do so at a spot that blocks comments like MMS. Great stuff though as usual for Drew although when I stayed at the Hyatt Kinabalu in January 2020 my suite looked nowhere near as pretty as the one pictured. Great hotel though and a really good value for Globalists at 5,000 points a night for a suite with nice club lounge with lovely views and superb breakfast.

    • Hey Christian, how’s it been? I looked at the pictures of the rooms of the Aruba Radisson Blu and they are VERY nice. Definitely a good redemption option. I just wish that the US Bank credit card still had the BOGO free nights. I’m looking to combine my points to book a stay there this summer.

          • Hey, Christian. We’re actually planning to hold the first meetup in more than a year on the Sunday of Memorial Weekend. I’ll share more details in the Nashville group and in a follow-up article.
