Who’s in Your Wallet? Credit Card Points Remain a Challenge for Travel Agents. – This is so true within our community. Most of us feel that we don’t need a travel agent because we’ve already done most of the legwork. It is interesting to see how some travel agent groups have partnered with Amex so that the agent can book the trip, then you can use points to offset the purchase. And it can be a good idea to book the trip yourself, then involve a travel agent for other portions of the trip (e.g.: excursions and tours) that you can’t book using rewards.
This Guy Couldn’t Afford a Hawaiian Vacation so He Faked It. – This is funny, but oh so sad. With a couple of strategic credit card applications, this dude could have been in Hawaii with plenty of miles and points leftover towards a future trip. At least Kayak jumped in and offered a free flight to Hawaii for him to reward his creativity.

Rome limits tourist access to Trevi Fountain. – As the saying goes, “this is why we can’t have nice things.” At least the police were kind and let people line up to see the fountains up close. In many ways, I would actually prefer it if this happened all of the time. That way you won’t get random people photobombing your pictures.
Secret Caribbean Islands: The 10 Least Visited. – We recently visited St Kitts and had a wonderful time. The flights would have been expensive using cash ($916 per person) but were really affordable at 15,000 AA miles per person each way. I highly recommend visiting sometime.
The future of the Amex airline fee credit benefit. – The valued of the Amex Platinum has declined time and time again. With so many features being killed or reduced, I’m leaning towards canceling when my annual comes due next month.
