Choice Hotels nominates board directors in hostile Wyndham bid.
Choice Hotels is making a big play to compete with Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and IHG. Combined with its recent acquisition of Radisson Americas, adding Wyndham properties to its portfolio would make the brand much more competitive at the higher end. Although Choice is primarily known for budget-friendly travel, it continues to add higher-end properties like Cambria to attract luxury travelers.

If you’re interested in traveling to Europe in 2024, now is a great time to book a flight. There are multiple airlines offering amazing deals throughout the year at affordable prices. We often take things about travel for granted. I interviewed Cory from Curb Free with Cory Lee about the importance of accessible travel, and he opened my eyes to what he encounters while traveling. I’m glad to see destinations, hotels, restaurants and attractions make it easier for everyone to enjoy what they have to offer. But there’s still a long way to go, and these influencers are helping people and brands understand how to be better and more inclusive.
In 2023, 474 New Hotels With 60,436 Rooms Opened in the U.S.
It may not seem like it, but 2023 was a gangbuster year for new hotels. And there are almost 6,000 projects comprising of nearly 700,000 rooms in the pipeline. The categories with the most projects were the “upper midscale” and “upscale” categories, so there will be more properties available for aspirational luxury travel soon.
