Southwest Airlines Experiments With New Boarding Processes.
I think some of these moves will improve the boarding process. Although I’m not sure how much they’ll speed things up. The author did get one thing wrong… families don’t get to board first. Families board after the “A Group” (first 60 passengers) is done. Even with that small error, having a designated area for families to wait out of the way of the normal boarding lines is a big benefit. Too often, I see novice travel families clogging up the process because they’re unsure of where to stand.
Accor just launched a travel subscription program — should you sign up?
The hotel loyalty program from Accor isn’t that popular in the U.S. since most of its properties are in other countries. Many of its hotels are beautiful and located in popular international destinations, like Paris. But there are some hotels located in the U.S. within the 21c, Sofitel, and Mondrian brands. Unfortunately, only half of Accor’s brands are participating in this promotion. Overall, you’ll need to stay at Accor properties on a regular basis to justify the 99 to 199 Euro annual cost, so this promotion may have limited appeal to many of us.
