The Morning Shave

The New Low-Cost Airlines Offering Cheap Flights This Summer. – Even if you don’t plan on flying these low-cost airlines, increased competition will encourage other airlines to lower their fares in response. I’d recommend trying some of these airlines out. You might find a new favorite.

England to Welcome Vaccinated Americans Starting Aug. 2. – I was beginning to worry that my upcoming JetBlue MINT flight from JFK to London wouldn’t work out due to UK restrictions on travelers. With Delta extending elite status, will American and United follow suit? – Airlines are very much a copycat business, so when one airline makes changes, the others often follow suit to stay competitive. If you are traveling, look into your favorite airline’s “challenges” to earn elite status based on lowered thresholds than pre-COVID.

Economy flyers can now pre-order snacks, drinks on United flights. – Economy passengers will soon be able to pre-order snacks and beverages up to 5 days before their flight. While this service is currently only available on select flights between Chicago and California, it will be expanding to all flights over 1,500 miles by early fall.

Sleeping at the airport: American Airlines flight attendant, pilot unions complain about lack of hotel rooms. – With many hotels still limiting capacity, true road warriors like flight attendants and pilots are struggling to find places to sleep in between shifts. This is not good and could lead to tragic errors in the sky. I know that I’m grumpy enough after not sleeping well on a flight, I can only imagine what they have to go through after working for the entire flight.
