Ryanair Hits Out At ‘Stupid’ Dublin Airport Night Flights Reduction.
You can always count on Ryanair to have an entertaining opinion. This is a bad move for passengers since overnight flights often provide lower airfares and allow travelers to spend the day at their destination and fly while sleeping. Do you think more airports will start limiting overnight flights?
Survey Finds Consumers Want to Spend Less Than $200/night on Lodging.
Saving money is key to be able to afford regular vacations with your friends and family. With travel demand spiking after COVID, prices also increased substantially. It makes sense that travelers want to limit their hotel costs in order to afford a splurge on an activity or meal during their trip. From this survey, only 41% of Americans plan to use hotel points to save money. Lots of opportunities for people to save if they’d only be willing to learn about how to use miles and points. Durbin-Marshall Credit Card Competition Act Fails.
I’m happy to hear that this bill was not passed by Congress. But, that doesn’t mean that it won’t pass some time in the future. As it is written, it could have devastated the world of credit card rewards and made it less profitable (and desirable) for banks to issue cards… even those without rewards. While retailer costs could decrease, there’s no reason why they’d pass those savings on to us consumers. They certainly didn’t when the Dodd-Frank Act passed and limited fees on debit card transactions. Instead, they’d just boost their profits to make more money for their Execs and shareholders.
