The Morning Shave

Marriott lines up three conversions for Bonvoy’s US portfolio.

We’re always looking for premium redemptions for our Bonvoy points. With these three new luxury properties being added to Marriott’s portfolio, you’ll certainly be impressed. The first property is in Hawaii, the second is in Southern California, and the third is in New York City. No details yet on how many points you’ll need to book rooms here, but these will be a great way to use premium free night certificates or the 5th night free benefit.

How Do Airports Get Their 3-letter Codes?

When booking flights, you wonder how the airports chose their three-letter codes. Some are pretty obvious (JFK, LAX or CDG), while others aren’t (BNA or ORD). Read this article for some fun trivia you can share on your next flight or while sitting at an airport bar.

Hyatt acquires German brand Me and All Hotels.

While Hyatt is still the smallest of the major hotel brands, it continues to add new properties through any means necessary. 30 Trips to Plan a Year in Advance.

These vacations are not for the last-minute travelers reading this article. Instead, this is for people who like to plan their trips far in advance. Not only do you get the psychological benefit of the anticipation of the trip, but you’ll also be able to lock in tickets for events that sell out quickly and are often hard to get. Other trips just take a long time to coordinate, so starting to plan early will avoid unnecessary hiccups and ensure you have a memorable experience.

Travelers Should Be Extra Mindful of Pickpockets in These European Countries, Study Shows.

Since I’m traveling to Barcelona and Paris this year, this article really stands out. Pickpockets, scammers and other thieves are constantly on the prowl trying to separate you from your valuables. Whether you’re on the metro, at an attraction, or simply walking about, you have to stay on guard at all times. Protect your valuables and avoid falling into their traps. My favorite shorts have zippered pockets, while other people wear bags or belts that go underneath clothing. Whatever method you choose, make sure you know what to do if you’re the victim of a travel scam.
