When I lived in Southern California, we would hold meetups every couple of months. It was a great opportunity to meet new people, an excuse to see friends more often, and a fun way to try new places. Now that I’m living in Nashville, I’ve brought the tradition with me and formed the Music City Miles and Points Facebook group.

If you live anywhere near Nashville or if you like to travel to Tennessee, I encourage you to join our Facebook group. I’m still getting used to the fact that you can drive 90 minutes north or south and be in a different state.
Whether you’re in Kentucky, Alabama, Memphis, Knoxville, or Chattanooga, I encourage you to join our group. As someone that is new to the area, I’d love to learn more about what’s hot in your part of town!
We plan on holding regular events, talk about the latest travel news affecting our area, and offer opportunities to meet like-minded people.

Travel Meetup on Thursday, February 28th
William (That Irie Guy on BoardingArea), Jason a local travel expert, and I will be organizing these events. We all bring different expertise to the travel world, so it will be an awesome opportunity to learn from everyone who attends.
Our first event will be held at Embers Ski Lodge at 2410 12th Ave S, Nashville, Tennessee 37204. It’s on the corner of 12th Ave and Caruthers Ave. Consider taking an Uber or Lyft to avoid the hassle of parking.
Embers is an Aspen-themed pub that makes you feel like you’re inside a ski lodge. For the truly adventurous, they even have “shot-skis”!
What Time Is Happy Hour?
The happy hour at Embers is from 3 pm to 7 pm every day. You’ll receive a “Big Boy Pour” on any whiskey that you order. All wines are $6 by the glass. And all beers are 2-for-1, whether you’re ordering draft or bottles.

What Time Does The Travel Meetup Start?
Our event starts at 6 pm, but I will get there a bit early to secure some space for us.
RSVP on the Facebook Event Page so that we’ll have a rough estimate of how many people are coming. Please note that you must join the Music City Miles & Points Facebook Group in order to RSVP for the event.
Does It Cost Anything To Attend?
There is no cover charge to attend. But keep in mind that this is a no-host event, so bring your favorite credit card that earns bonus points for dining!
My favorite dining credit card right now is the Capital One Savor Card. It earns 4% cash back on all dining and entertainment purchases. Plus 2% cash back on groceries and 1% on everything else. Do They Serve Food?
Embers Ski Lodge is a restaurant and they serve tasty food. Take a look at the menu here. The kitchen is open until 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11 pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
Is It Kid-Friendly?
Since it is a restaurant as well, it is ok to bring your kids. I’ll have my son, Timothy, and daughter, Scarlett, with me.
