Kimpton Expands to Toronto

Kimpton announced that they will be expanding to Canada with a new Kimpton Hotel Toronto Canada property.  The new Kimpton Hotel in Toronto, Canada, will open in mid-2018 in the city’s posh Bloor-Yorkville neighborhood.  As a Kimpton fan, I couldn’t be happier!  I’ve never been to Toronto, so this will be a great opportunity to visit a new Kimpton and explore a city that is rich in history, yet so hip and modern.

Kimpton Hotel Toronto Canada

Not many details have been released about the Toronto location, but Kimpton provided a few hints to its location in their blog post about the Kimpton Hotel Toronto Canada location:

• The new property will open mid-2018
• It will be located in Toronto’s posh Bloor-Yorkville neighborhood
• The hotel will have 189 guest rooms
• The location will be just “steps away from both the Royal Ontario Museum and Yorkville’s renowned high-end shops“

And from another article from Hotel News Resource, a few more details were leaked:

• The Kimpton Hotel Toronto Canada will be converted from the Holiday Inn Toronto Bloor Yorkville
• The building is 13 stories tall
• It will have 18 suites and 1 Presidential Suite
• There will be 2,000 square feet of meeting space available

TripAdvisor reviews of the Holiday Inn indicate that the property is in an excellent location.  However, the pictures and reviews indicate that the interior (and possibly the staff) will need to be freshened up quite a bit before it is up to Kimpton’s standards.

So, there are a few details to whet our appetite until more details get released as the property comes closer to opening.

New Kimpton Hotels

Aside from the new Kimpton Hotel Toronto Canada, there are quite a few other properties opening soon in the next couple of years.  Here are a few:

• St George’s, Grenada
• Tampa, Florida
• Tempe, AZ

I’ve had some amazing experiences at Kimpton properties, and I just know that these new properties will live up to the Kimpton standard of excellent service, comfortable & stylish rooms, and amazing on-site bars & restaurants.

The Bald Thoughts

I’m so excited with this new Kimpton Hotel Toronto Canada location. I love that Kimpton is expanding internationally, even if Americans consider Canada as “U.S.-lite”. It will be so much fun exploring the city and the new property. 2018 is shaping up to be an exciting year!  And you just know that I’ll be an Inner Circle member again in 2018, so at least one of my nights at the new hotel will be free.
