How credit cards changed during the pandemic and what to expect in 2023. – There have been major changes during the last 2 years… some good and some bad. Annual fees have gone up, reward categories & redemptions changed, and new cards were introduced. How do you feel about the changes? Overall, I think that rewards have become more flexible, but I don’t like the trend towards higher fees and “couponing” of benefits that require more work for cardholders.
Walmart+ to include complimentary Paramount+ subscription: Free for Amex Platinum cardholders. – With so many streaming services, it’s easy to get inundated with subscriptions that cost more than cable TV. And I love that this streaming benefit was added for no extra charge. I wasn’t using my Walmart+ benefit, but it seems like now is a good time to sign up and claim the Paramount+ subscription.
Emirates Airlines’ Flights Are About to Get Even Swankier—Including in Economy Class. – I love that these improvements aren’t limited to the premium cabin tickets of Business and First Class. Most of us are stuck in Economy, so it’s a good day when that experience gets better.
Why Using Your Credit Card Is Getting More Expensive. – Initially, credit cards were billed as a way to get consumers to spend more versus cash customers. Businesses gladly ate the 2-3% cost to increase revenues and generate profits. Recently, businesses shifted their approach and started passing those costs to customers. And, it seems like it is getting worse. I love earning rewards, but at what point are the additional fees more than the benefits?

Seeing a gorgeous waterfall at the end of a long hike is one of the best rewards that I can think of. These waterfalls offer some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable.
