About Those Choice Privileges Devaluations….
As someone who collects airline miles and hotel points, I always cringe when I hear about a devaluation. Especially when the loyalty program doesn’t disclose the changes ahead of time with enough warning to reduce the impact. However, the author makes some good points about how 1) most of us wouldn’t stay at bottom-tier properties very often and 2) the price changes are relatively modest across properties that we’d actually stay in. What are your thoughts about the Choice Privileges devaluations?
Guide: How Does the $400 Hilton Credit Work?
I have the Hilton Honors Aspire credit card, and using this benefit has always been confusing for me. It would be more customer-friendly if this credit applied to all travel (like the Chase Sapphire Reserve) or to any hotel purchase (like the old Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant). However, it is limited to “Hilton resort” properties, which means that regular Hilton stays don’t qualify. Once you understand how it works, simply visit the special link to search for eligible properties and then use your Aspire Card to pay for your room or make other eligible charges to your room. Use our link to learn more about this card and the best hotel credit card offers.
Is It Better to Sit on the Left or Right Side of the Plane? Frequent Fliers Weigh In.
On most flights, my head is either buried in something I’m reading or I’m focused on writing articles. Occasionally, I’ll chill out and watch a movie or catch some sleep. That’s why I always travel with my favorite hoodies. However, on some flights, it makes sense to sit on certain sides of the plane if you have a window seat and want to see the views below. Do you have a preference when you fly?
Quick & Easy Status Match to Sonesta Travel Pass Platinum Status.
Sonesta may not be on the radar of many travelers, but it has quickly been adding to its portfolio. For example, it bought several hundred properties from IHG a couple of years ago. I haven’t stayed at a Sonesta property, but it is great to know you can achieve elite status quickly by requesting a status match of your existing hotel elite status. I’m sure there are numerous hotel brands they’ll match with, but this article includes Hyatt, IHG and Wyndham.
Stranded Overnight? Why Accepting A Free Hotel From The Airline Could Be Your Biggest Mistake.
While airlines may give you a free hotel night when you’re stranded overnight, these passenger experiences will leave you questioning that decision. These are some disgusting rooms, and I would definitely not stay there. Luckily, whenever we’ve had a flight delay, the hotels the airlines put us in were decent rooms. In the future, I won’t leave it to chance. Instead, I’ll rely on my credit card travel protections or travel insurance benefits to cover the cost of a room that is clean and comfy.
