Why Flying Business Class to Europe Isn’t Worth It, Even With Miles.
The common strategy in the miles & points world is to save your airline miles for Business Class or First Class international flights. Typically, you get much better value this way… plus, these premium seats offer a much better way to sleep on an overnight trip. But, the author points out that East Coast travelers have such a short flight time (~6 hours flight time and ~4 hours of sleep) that they don’t get to enjoy enough of the flight to make it worth the cost. Thinking about it that way, I can understand why he feels that way. What are your thoughts?
Frontier Airlines announces first-class seats, companion pass for high-level elite status.
Frontier is taking steps to shed its LCC status to compete with legacy airlines and budget-friendly competitors like Alaska, JetBlue, and Southwest. It will be adding First Class seats in late 2025, complimentary upgrades for elites, and a complimentary companion pass for its most loyal travlers. Will these changes make you consider flying with Frontier?
Hawaiian Airlines Is Opening a New Premium-only Lounge.
I love it when new airport lounges open, and it is great to see a new entry to the lounge market. While its lounge is only available to premium cabin passengers, this is a move in the right direction for all travelers. The lounge will be ready in 2027, so you won’t be able to enjoy it right away. Once it opens, the airline may extend entry to other Alaska travelers or possibly Priority Pass members.
Virgin Voyages unveils 2026 annual pass.
If you love to cruise, then Virgin Voyages has an amazing offer to consider. With its 2026 annual pass, you and a companion can sail on any itinerary in a Sea Terrace cabin throughout the year. IHG opens new Vignette Collection within world’s largest indoor snow centre.
IHG is proud to announce the opening of the Shanghai Snow World Hotel in China. This new hotel resides within the world’s largest indoor ski facility and comprises 272 rooms and 17 suites with direct access to more than 90,000m² of indoor year-round snow. I searched for rooms in March 2025, and you can book a room starting at just 22,100 points per night.
