Expedia Will Give Away 20 Trips During the Super Bowl — Including One Worth $25K. – I’m a big football fan, so I’ll be watching the game. But, even if you’re not a fan, you should tune in for the commercials, which are some of the best all year. This year, Expedia is giving away 20 trips worth at least $5,000 each. To qualify, you’ll need to follow Expedia on Twitter and be a member of their loyalty program. Will you be one of the winners?

Delta has a plan to cut down on carry-on luggage. – Airlines have been coercing travelers to carry on bags vs. check them with unfriendly fees. Now, it seems that they’re changing course and realizing that having 100+ passengers try to load and unload their own bags in the overhead compartments can really slow down the process. Or you can listen to my podcast interview with Michael W Travels to discuss the best pizza in Brooklyn.

Southwest is restoring alcohol sales, leaving American as lone holdout. – It’s about time that Southwest restarted selling alcohol. The pandemic led them to slim down service to make things quicker, yet they’ve also lost revenue and decreased customer satisfaction in the process. The big question is what will they do will all of the free drink tickets that expired during the last two years when fewer people were traveling or when they weren’t selling alcohol?

How Hyatt Plans to Leverage Newly Acquired Apple Leisure for Global Growth. – Hyatt is far behind the other big brands in terms of geographic footprint, but they are making strides to catch up and be a major player. World of Hyatt loyalists love the brand and the perks they receive, but will those benefits be diluted as the brand grows? It happened to Kimpton fans once it was acquired by IHG.
