The Morning Shave
Airports in New York City Can No Longer Overcharge Travelers for Food and Drinks. – Eating and drinking at the airport can be more expensive than almost any other part of your trip. That’s why I love airport lounge access so that I can eat and drink for free. For people without lounge access (or where there aren’t lounges), this ruling is a huge win for families. I understand making a profit, but gouging travelers, because they don’t have any alternatives, is just wrong.
Quick Points: Get bonus miles when your checked bags arrive late. – Normally, I’m #TeamCarryon, but I’ll check bags when bringing home wine or on red-eye flights. With more and more bags getting delayed, you could get a few easy miles when checking your bag. If it takes more than 20 minutes for your bag to arrive, Delta and Alaska will give you bonus miles for the inconvenience. And, if they get lost (or majorly delayed), use your credit card’s bag delay benefits to go shopping.
6 Things You Should Never Do When Crossing a Border. – If you’re planning international travel, take it seriously when going through customs. While you’re excited about a fun vacation, these people have a job to do. And they don’t take kindly to “funny” jokes or playtime. The last thing you want is for someone to flag your passport so you can go through extended searches that make you miss a connecting flight or hours of your vacation time.
You Can Still Book Cheap Summer Flights to These Destinations. – If you’re planning to travel this summer, but haven’t made reservations yet, here are some destinations you can visit without breaking the bank. After seeing some of these deals, I may need to book another trip or two.
16 Incredible Suspension Bridges Around the World. – Looking for something unique on your next vacation, then this is for you. These suspension bridges offer incredible views and thrill-seeking excitement at the same time. While I probably won’t be visiting any of these 16 this year, I do plan on visiting the Gatlinburg Sky Bridge on a weekend getaway. It is the largest pedestrian cable bridge in the U.S. and very easy to get to for a big portion of my U.S. readers.
