10 Travel Safety Mishaps and How to Avoid Them. – It’s been a while since most of us have flown, so it’s a good idea to brush up on safety tips to avoid trouble on your next vacation. While we’ve been hunkered down during COVID, criminals have been honing their skills and coming up with new ways to steal your money & your valuables.
Head for This Row Next Time You’re Traveling With Your Family on Southwest — Here’s Why. – I can understand why the author wants to sit in these rows. Who doesn’t want to be served drinks first? Of course, it would also be nice to have an empty seat next to you. However, if you’re traveling with kids, you should have an empty water bottle that you fill up once you pass through security. And with almost every plane operating at capacity, the chances of an empty seat are slim-to-none on most flights.
All-Inclusives’ Upscale Shift. – Many travelers just want to make life easy while on vacation. To satisfy this demand and offer a higher level of service, many upscale brands are launching or expanding their all-inclusive resorts. Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt are all opening new resorts to cater to higher-end travelers (and those of us with points to burn).
After adding up the extras, are budget airlines the lowest-cost option? – In my experience, LCC airlines can be a good deal if you’re able to avoid their add-on charges. For example, I’m flying Frontier this week because it offered the best fares, departure times, and non-stop service. Luckily, I have Elite 100K from a status match last year, otherwise, I’d have to pay a la carte fees or buy The Works to fly the way I like to travel.
What Travelers Should Do to Prepare for Extreme Heat in Europe. – Travelers are in a bit of a quandary when it comes to European travel right now. It’s very attractive with the Euro on par with the US Dollar. However, the current heat wave is literally melting roofs and airport runways. And while we can deal with the heat here in the U.S. by enjoying the AC, most European hotels and businesses either don’t have it or aren’t capable of handling this much heat.
