I always book flights with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card to earn 3x on flights and get travel protections in case of flight delays/cancellations or if my bags are lost.

Chase Sapphire Reserve: Best Chase credit cards for luxury travelers

The Chase Sapphire Reserve is my go-to credit card whenever I book flights. I earn 5x points when booking flights through Ultimate Rewards or 3x points when booking directly with the airlines. Additionally, I receive travel protections that cover flight delays or cancellations, if the airline loses my bags, or if something happens to my rental car. And when I’m traveling, I can visit the Priority Pass lounges for free. Plus, I can bring my family (or two friends) with me for no extra charge. My favorite redemption option for points is to transfer points to airline and hotel partners. But you can also get 50% more value when booking travel through Ultimate Rewards.

Chase Sapphire Preferred: Best for occasional travelers

  • Annual fee: $95; $0 for authorized users
  • Rewards: 5x on travel through Ultimate Rewards, 3x on dining, online grocery orders, and select streaming services, 2x on travel, and 1x on everything else.
  • Benefits: 10% anniversary rewards boost, primary rental car protection, travel and purchase protection, $50 annual hotel credit on reservations through Ultimate Rewards, and more

For infrequent travelers, the Chase Sapphire Preferred is an excellent option to receive travel protections and earn points on everyday household purchases. You’ll earn 3x points on dining, online groceries, and select streaming subscriptions. When you do travel, you’ll get 5x points when booking through Ultimate Rewards or 2x points by booking directly.

World of Hyatt Credit Card: Best Chase credit cards for Hyatt members

  • Annual fee: $95, $0 for authorized users
  • Rewards: Earn 4x points at Hyatt properties, 2x on dining, flights (purchased from airlines), local transit and commuting, and fitness clubs and gym memberships, and 1x on all other purchases.
  • Benefits: Automatic Discoverist status, five elite night credits, an annual free night (up to Category 4), a second annual free night based on spending, and travel and purchase protections.

If your favorite hotel is Hyatt, then the World of Hyatt card is the best Chase credit card for you. It includes automatic Discoverist elite status and five elite night credits towards higher levels of elite status. Plus, you’ll earn two additional elite night credits for every $5,000 you spend each year. The card includes an annual free night that is good at Category 1-4 properties, and you can earn a second annual free night when you spend $15,000 on the card each year.

Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Card: Best for Southwest flyers

  • Annual fee: $149, $0 authorized users
  • Rewards: Receive 3x points on Southwest purchases, 2x on Rapid Rewards hotel and rental car purchases, 2x on local transit, commuting, and rideshare, 2x on internet, cable, phone, and select streaming, and 1x on everything else.
  • Benefits: Annual $75 Southwest travel credit, 7,500 anniversary bonus points, four Upgraded Boardings per year, travel and purchase protections, 25% off in-flight purchases, and unlimited Tier-Qualifying Points (TQPs) based on purchases.

Southwest Airlines has multiple co-branded credit cards for consumers and small businesses. However, the Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Card is the best Chase credit card for Southwest flyers. Although it has the highest annual fee, it is my favorite because the $75 Southwest travel credit, annual bonus points, and four Upgraded Boardings easily outweigh the annual fee. You’ll earn bonus points on Southwest purchases and many categories of regular daily expenses, like commuting, cable and telephone bills, and streaming services.

Marriott Bonvoy Boundless: Best for Marriott Bonvoy members

  • Annual fee: $95, $0 authorized users
  • Rewards: 6x points at Marriott properties, 3x on groceries, gas, and dining (up to $6,000 in combined spending), and 2x on all other purchases.
  • Benefits: Anniversary free night (up to 35,000 points), automatic Silver Elite status, earn Gold Elite status with $35,000 in purchases, 15 Elite Night credits, and travel and purchase protections.

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card is the best Chase credit card for Marriott stays. You’ll earn up to 17x points per dollar spent at Marriott properties. That includes 6x points from the card, up to 10x points as a Bonvoy member, and up to 1x points with the automatic Silver Elite status included with the card. Members can upgrade to Gold Elite status when they spend $35,000 in a calendar year. Cardholders also receive an annual free night certificate that’s good for rooms up to 35,000 points. And, if the room costs more, you can add up to 15,000 Marriott points to cover the cost.

United Explorer Card: Best for United Airlines flyers

  • Annual fee: $95 (waived the first year), $0 for authorized users
  • Rewards: Earn 2x miles on United purchases, dining, and hotels (booked directly).
  • Benefits: Free checked bag (cardholder and one companion), premier upgrades on award flights, two United Club passes each year, 25% on in-flight purchases, priority boarding, and up to $100 reimbursement for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS every four years.

Travelers who prefer United Airlines receive great value from the United Explorer Card. It is the best Chase credit card for United passengers who fly with the airline at least once a year. It earns bonus miles on purchases from United, dining, and rooms booked directly with the hotel. You’ll get the first checked bag free for you and one travel companion, plus priority boarding for all travel companions. When you book award tickets, you’re eligible for premier upgrades. Plus, you’ll get 25% back on all in-flight purchases every time you fly. Plus, you’ll get two United Club passes every year to visit the United airport lounge when flying on the airline.

Chase Freedom Unlimited: Best Chase credit cards for everyday purchases

  • Annual fee: $0, $0 for authorized users
  • Rewards: Get 5% on travel purchased through Chase, 3% on dining and drugstores, and unlimited 1.5% on all other purchases.
  • Benefits: 0% APR offer for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers, travel and purchase protections.

The Chase Freedom Unlimited is one of my favorite credit cards for everyday purchases. You’ll get bonus points on travel (purchased through Chase), dining, and drugstore purchases, and 1.5% on everything else. It earns Ultimate Rewards points that can be redeemed for cash back, travel, gift cards, and more at a value of 1 cent per point. And, if you have a Sapphire or Ink Card, you can combine points for even higher value or transfer them to airline and hotel partners.

Chase Freedom Flex: Best for rotating quarterly bonuses

  • Annual fee: $0, $0 for authorized users
  • Rewards: Earn 5% on quarterly rotating bonus categories (after activation, up to $1,500 in purchases), 5% on travel (purchase through Chase), 3% on dining and drugstores, and 1% on everything else.
  • Benefits: 0% APR offer for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers, travel and purchase protections.

Cardholders can earn up to 5% cash back on quarterly rotating bonus categories when they activate the promotion. The bonus is limited to $1,500 in purchases each quarter, but these rewards add up quickly. While it is promoted as a cash back card, the rewards earned are Ultimate Rewards points, which have tremendous flexibility. They can be redeemed for cash back, travel, gift cards, and more. When you have a Sapphire or Ink Card, you can combine points for a higher value and unlock transfer partners.

Chase Slate Edge: Best Chase credit cards for balance transfers

  • Annual fee: $0, $0 for authorized users
  • Rewards: None
  • Benefits: 0% APR offer for 18 months on purchases and balance transfers. Split large purchases into monthly payments during the intro period with the My Chase Plan feature. Lower interest rate by up to 2% and possibly qualify for a larger credit limit with on-time payments and making required purchases.

If you have debt or are making a large purchase, the Chase Slate Edge is one of the best Chase credit cards. Balance transfers get a 0% intro APR for 18 months. That gives you a year and a half to pay off your balance without incurring any interest charges. There is a 3% fee (min $5) on the amount transferred during the first 60 days. After that, you’ll pay 5% (min $5) on the balance transfer. The 0% intro APR offer on purchases gives you extra time to pay off your purchase without paying any interest.

The Slate Edge card rewards cardholders that make on-time payments consistently. You can reduce your interest rate by up to 2% when you pay your account on time and spend $1,000 each year. Plus, you’ll receive an account review for a higher credit limit after making $500 in purchases and paying your bill on time during the first six months.

Chase Ink Business Preferred: Best for small business owners

  • Annual fee: $95, $0 for authorized users
  • Rewards: Earn 3x points on the first $150,000 spent each year on shipping, online advertising, travel, and internet, cable, and phone services. All other purchases earn unlimited 1x points.
  • Benefits: Points are worth 25% more when booking travel with Chase, transfer points at a 1:1 ratio to airline and hotel partners, travel and purchase protections, and free employee cards.

Small business owners can get huge value on their business expenses with the Chase Ink Business Preferred Card. The card offers 3x points on the first $150,000 you spend on common business expenses. Plus, you’ll earn 1x points on everything else. With free employee cards, you can also track employee spending, set individual credit limits, and earn rewards on their purchases. Your points can be redeemed for cash back, gift cards, and more. When you book travel through Chase with your points, they’re worth 25% more. Or you can potentially receive even higher value when transferring points to its airline and hotel partners.
