‘It’s a PR stunt’: While many were helped, some fire victims say Airbnb’s free vouchers are useless.

I can understand the frustration that many of the victims of this natural disaster are feeling. While Airbnb made a generous offer, and many people benefitted from it, the platform isn’t actually set up to fulfill all of the vouchers as effectively as it should. Unlike hotels, Airbnb doesn’t own any inventory, so it can’t place guests in unoccupied rooms at virtually no cost. Instead, it had to offer vouchers that guests could use to pay hosts for their properties. To make matters worse, guests couldn’t apply vouchers to existing reservations or get refunds on stays they’ve already paid for.

Considering the wild stories that come out of flights, it’s a bit ironic that Spirit Airlines is now trying to enforce a dress code. What to Do With Your Luggage During a Layover.

I’m a proud member of #TeamCarryon because I hate waiting for bags, and I’m afraid the airline will lose my baggage. However, this poses a problem when I have a long layover. It’s a pain to lug your suitcase around the airport all day, and it can prevent you from exploring the city during long layovers. Luckily, some international airports offer storage services. After 9/11, these options disappeared in the U.S., so private companies popped up to fill the need using off-airport locations. What do you do with your bags during layovers?
