Airlines are always innovating to find new ways to earn more revenue… whether that means cramming more seats in planes or creating upsells that travelers are willing to pay for. Passengers can expect more space, increased privacy and better sleep during their next flight with these innovations. What do you think about them?

Hurricane Beryl Path and Travel Disruptions: Latest Updates.

This year’s hurricane season is starting earlier than normal with a record-breaking hurricane. Hurricane Beryl was the earliest recorded Category 4 (June) and Category 5 (July) storm ever. It is already wreaking havoc in the Caribbean with massive storm surges, strong winds and loads of rain. If you’re in the storm’s path, take cover or get out while you can. For travelers with upcoming flights, take advantage of airlines’ offer to change flights and consider using your travel insurance or credit card travel protections to cover some of the costs associated with changing your trip.

National Park Service Issues Warnings to Keep Distance from Wildlife This Summer — What to Know.

Travelers visiting National Parks often want to see wildlife for a unique experience. While we’re used to seeing docile animals at the circus or zoo, animals in the wild are completely different. The animals typically go about their business and leave people alone, but they can also react dangerously without provocation. For this reason, keep your distance no matter how cute and cuddly the animal may seem.

The Silent Devaluation of Our Favorite Loyalty Programs.

In the award travel world, we’re all used to the occasional devaluation of what our miles and points are worth. However, one thing that is often overlooked is how elite status benefits are also routinely devalued. I agree with the Pundit’s opinion about hotel loyalty programs and hotel operators silently devaluing elite status benefits. I’m writing this from Spain, and both Marriott properties that I’ve stayed at have underperformed, in my opinion, when it comes to promised upgrades and breakfast as a Lifetime Platinum member. Are you underwhelmed by the “upgrades” and lack of special treatment when you travel?
