The holidays are upon us and it is time to buy the men in your life something special. I’m a big believer in buying experiences rather than material items… but I also love gifts that enhance my experiences. So, you’ll find a combination of both in my collection of the ultimate travel gift ideas for men.

My Favorite Travel Gift Ideas for Men
Many travel gift ideas for men are focused on products, but I already have enough stuff gathering dust around my house. Do you feel the same way? If so, then this list is for you.
In my list of favorite travel gift ideas for men, I’m focusing on experiences with a few gift items that enhance the travel experience.
Fly Like A Rockstar
We all love traveling to our next vacation, but why should we get stuck flying in the middle seat of Economy, 60 rows from the exit? A few times a year, I splurge for Business or First Class flights when redeeming airline miles. But what if you could fly in a private jet?
With JetSmarter, you can fly on private jets for one low annual membership fee. JetSmarter offers a variety of shuttle routes to accommodate hassle-free travel between New York, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and more. Shuttles are also available throughout Europe and the Middle East.
During December 2017, JetSmarter is offering a 6-month membership for $9,950 to the first 500 members. Annual memberships are available starting at $15,000. Both memberships allow you to fly unlimited flights on JetSmarter Shuttles and “empty leg” flights.
If $10K is a little above your price range, how about booking a weekend getaway for you and your man on JetSuiteX. Flights between Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Las Vegas, and Mammoth can be found for around $100-150 per person each way. Save $20 when you use my referral link on flights $129 or more.
Skip the Lines at the Airport
If you can’t fly in a private jet, at least you can skip the lines at the airport. With Global Entry or TSA PreCheck, your man will be able to breeze through security for the next 5 years for $20 or less per year. Heck, when I’m in a hurry, I’d pay $20 if I could skip the line just once!
With the rising popularity of Global Entry and TSA PreCheck, even those lines can get pretty long. This is especially true during peak travel times. That’s why I also use CLEAR. CLEAR is a private company that offers their own lines at security. When pairing CLEAR and Global Entry/TSA PreCheck, I get the best of both worlds… the fast lines and personal service of CLEAR and the hassle-free security protocols (ie: keep shoes on and laptop & liquids in bag) of TSA PreCheck.
Through the end of December, I’ve secured a 2-month free trial for my readers. Just use my link and promo code “2MONTHS” to sign up for CLEAR.
Airport Lounge Membership
Even when I travel in Economy, I know that I can experience a little bit of the lifestyles of the rich & famous by chilling in the airport lounge before or after my flight. Not only am I away from all of the craziness of the airport terminal, I can also grab a few complimentary drinks and snacks while being productive on the free wifi.
The best thing is that access to airport lounges isn’t that expensive!
There are many different ways to buy your loved one an airport lounge membership. First off, check the benefits of your credit card. You might be able to add him as an authorized user on your card to unlock his lounge membership for a really low price. For example, you can add someone to your American Express Platinum card for $175 per year. Click here for the latest credit card offers.
With Priority Pass, we’ve secured an exclusive 10% introductory discount on annual memberships that provide access to over 1000 airport lounges across the globe where you can enjoy complimentary beverages, snacks, and wifi.
You can also purchase single day passes to specific airline lounges for as little as $15 a day on sites like eBay or directly from the airlines for about $50-60 a day. Or consider buying a day pass from LoungeBuddy using my referral code “J9ejAa2XGg” and we’ll both receive a $10 code.
Travel to His Favorite Band or Team
One of the great things about traveling is that you are no longer stuck waiting for your favorite band or team to come to your town. Or, if they do visit your town, you don’t have to miss out just because the dates don’t work for you.
Book a getaway to go see his favorite band or team play. Part of the fun is being able to explore a new city while catching a performance that you love!
Here are some results for Los Angeles. Use our link and promo code “TLWINTER” to save $10 on orders of $350 or more.
Protect Your Phone & Keep It Charged
When I travel, my phone is always by my side. Yet, life happens and my phone occasionally gets dropped or the battery starts to die from all the pictures I take.
Having a protective phone case from Otterbox will protect your phone and even allow you to top off your battery. We’ve arranged for free shipping on all orders only at OtterBox.com for our readers. Discount automatically applied at checkout. Offer valid for a limited time.
Another good option is an external battery that can charge phones, tablets, and other devices. We like the Anker 20100mAh Portable Charger PowerCore 20100 available from Amazon, which can charge an iPhone 7 almost seven times or the iPad mini twice. That’s a lot of juice!
Look Great & Stay Comfy
The problem with dressing up while traveling is that the cramped quarters of airplanes and taxis can have you go from looking like a hero to a zero in a hurry. I hate how easily my khakis and blazers get wrinkled when I’m sitting for hours while traveling.
I was recently introduced to the brand Bluffworks and immediately fell in love with my new blazer. And, more importantly, so did my wife! I’m fortunate that Bluffworks decided to sponsor me and provide some clothes for me to try “out in the wild” as I travel for work and pleasure. After just a couple of days wearing them, I can tell you that I would definitely add these to my Christmas list.
Here are the Gramercy blazer and Chinos that I received from Bluffworks.
Ok, blazers aren’t everyone’s style when they travel. That’s cool. I’m a big fan of “comfortable” clothes like hoodies when I’m not dressed up for work. Which is why I’m loving this travel hoodie from Scottevest.
The zip-up hoodie comes in either cotton or microfleece and packs an astonishing 21 pockets. It is available in Black, Navy, Maroon, or Ash. And there’s a nice discount when using our referral link and the promo code “HOODIES2017” to purchase.
The best thing about this hoodie (and all of the clothes from Scottevest) is that it reduces the need to carry a suitcase or bag with you when traveling because there are so many useful pockets. This comes in really handy for quick trips or when flying the ultra-discount airlines that like to charge for bags of all shapes and sizes.
Help Them Find Their Next Flight
What is frustrating when looking to redeeming miles for flights or hoping for an upgrade is not being able to find the seats you want. A service called ExpertFlyer provides an inside look at the seat availability on flights for all of your favorite airlines.
It is also super cool that you can set alerts to notify you when that coveted award space becomes available!
Give an ExpertFlyer.com Gift Certificate so that your man can easily find flight availability, flight upgrades & awards, frequent flyer information, and so much more.
Give the gift of peace & quiet
When flying it is easy to get annoyed by everyone talking or babies crying. But with the Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones, your man will be able to sleep like a baby, get work done in peace and quiet, or listen to his favorite tunes.
The noise-canceling wireless headphones are simply amazing. The latest version even includes Google Assistant built-in so you can control your holiday playlist, receive texts and get answers to any question without glancing at your phone. That’s pretty awesome!
The Bald Thoughts
With these gift ideas, the men in your life will have better travel experiences. These travel gifts for men certainly won’t be gathering dust on a shelf… and are far better than some ugly tie or sweater that Aunt Bertha usually gives him. If you buy him something from his list of the best travel gifts for men, I’m pretty sure you’ll be his favorite on Christmas morning.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.
