For my third night in New York, I stayed at The Muse by Kimpton. It is a beautiful property with a nice ground level lounge with an inviting wall of wine waiting for you discerning taste buds.

The Muse New York, a Kimpton Hotel
The Muse is located at 130 West 46th Street, New York, NY 10036. It is 2 blocks from Rockefeller Center and 1 block from Times Square. The central location was great because it was a short 5 minute walk to my Affiliate Summit East conference being held at the Marriott Marquis – Save in New York City with our Value Dates. Check-in
When I arrived in the morning, my room was not yet ready for me, so I checked my bags, went to my conference, then returned in the evening around 5pm.
As I made my way up to the room, I think I startled the employee who was delivering my “welcome amenity”. Sarah really outdid herself with some great local beer (Bronx Pale Ale) and a full 1 pound of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. These great gifts were beyond the $15 “raid the mini bar” credit that Kimpton Karma Rewards Inner Circle members receive!
My room at The Muse by Kimpton
Check out this 15 second video to see the highlights of my room.
The upgraded room was HUGE. There was a nice sitting area with a desk, couch, and sitting chair surrounding a mini bar and fridge.
Around the privacy wall was my comfortable King sized bed. Although I didn’t use them, two super soft animal-print robes were waiting to wrap your body in luxury.
The bathroom was so large and well-appointed that I didn’t want to leave. There was a separate shower and jetted tub and each were large enough for a small party!
I paid $187 + tax as part of my strategy to hit all 4 New York Kimptons, while seeking to keep the costs as small as possible.
I used the coupon code MYDEAL to receive 25% off the normal listed room rate of $249. Unfortunately, this promo code ended on August 15, 2014.
The Lobby Wine Hour
The first two nights at the Eventi and 70 Park, I was too busy at my conference to make it back in time for the evening wine hour. When I returned from my conference session, I hung out in the lobby for a bit to enjoy the Kimpton Wine Hour from 5pm to 6pm.
Every night, each property’s management provides glasses of wine for guests to enjoy in the lobby or you can take it up to your room.
I was able to enjoy a couple of glasses of Merlot that I brought up to my room. A white wine was also available, if that’s more your style.
The Gym
In the morning, I was too busy to enjoy the gym, but wanted to check it out before heading off to the Kimpton Ink48. There were a variety of workout machines available, as well as some free weights.

Conclusion
Although I liked the balcony and my room at the Eventi the best, if I had to choose only one property to stay, I probably would have picked The Muse primarily due to how close it was to my conference. It offered a great room, with an amazing bathroom, and the ambiance in the lobby and accompanying bar was very welcoming.
