The Morning Shave
How a looming government shutdown could affect holiday travel.
Under current House leadership, I don’t see how we’ll avoid a government shutdown next Friday. And, of course, this is going to happen right before the busy Thanksgiving travel period. Be extra nice to the TSA staff and others who are affected. They have enough stress of being forced to work without getting paid. They don’t need entitled travelers pulling a “Karen” on them for something completely unnecessary.
United Airlines tweaks frequent flyer program to reward credit card spending.
With these tweaks, you’ll get 20% more elite status credits on your spending. Plus, you’ll earn them on every $500 you spend vs. having to spend a total of $12,000 each year. InterContinental is one of the premium brands in the travel world that doesn’t receive enough accolades. While IHG continues to add luxury brands to its portfolio, InterContinental is still its favorite child. I love to see the investment in the brand to ensure that IC stays competitive and attracts more travelers to its properties.
