Hyatt Sees All-Inclusives Surge, May Sell a Stake in ALG Vacations.
Hyatt continues its expansion in an effort to compete with larger hotel brands, like Marriott, Hilton, and IHG. One of its sources of growth is opening new all-inclusive resorts. With this capital-intensive expansion, Hyatt is considering selling a stake in ALG Vacations to boost its cash reserves and diversify its risk. What do you think about Hyatt’s all-inclusive resort strategy?
Spirit Airlines Ends Service To 11 U.S. Cities.
When you’re in bankruptcy, reducing your expenses and preserving cash is priority number one. The airline is exiting 11 markets entirely, while also cutting back planned expansion and reducing service to certain cities. While I appreciate its efforts to reduce expenses, cutting service will alienate customers and impact opportunities to increase revenue. What are your thoughts? Will Spirit Airlines survive, or will it finally be bought by someone else?

Southwest to roll out free WiFi fleetwide.
Southwest has been making negative changes one after the other in recent months. Finally, we have some good news to report. If you’re a Southwest Rapid Rewards member (free to join), you’ll get free internet access starting October 24, 2025. This puts the airline on par with Delta, United, and JetBlue, which are rolling out free WiFi to all passengers as they retrofit existing aircraft. On the flip side, this eliminates the value of a major benefit of the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card, which offers up to 365 credits per year toward in-flight WiFi.
What Not To Do if There’s an Open Middle Seat Next to You on a Flight.
Empty seats on flights are about as rare as unicorns and leprechauns. If you are lucky enough to find an empty seat next to you on your next flight, this article covers some dos & don’ts that are unofficial rules for flying. Are you guilty of breaking any of these rules?
US drops Biden plan to require airlines to pay compensation for disrupted flights.
Under these Biden-era policies, airlines were required to compensate passengers up to $775 when flights were delayed or canceled unexpectedly. Europe has EU-261 which provides compensation, and these rules were going to be the closest thing Americans had to a guaranteed payout if the airline caused problems with their flights. Now, the Trump Admin is eliminating this rule, and it is rescinding rules requiring airlines to disclose service fees and changing the definition of “flight cancellations” that entitle passengers to refunds. It is more important than ever to book your flights with a travel credit card that includes travel protections against trip delays, cancellations, and interruptions.
