The Morning Shave
Could the US Have the World’s First Nuclear-Powered Airport?
While nuclear power is often cheaper and more reliable than other sources of energy, I wonder if an airport is the right location for a nuclear reactor. Nuclear reactor technology is fairly safe, and I’m sure the airport officials will take every precaution. But, how would you feel about landing in Denver or having a layover when a reactor is nearby?
Southwest announced yet another way it’s becoming just a regular airline.
This is the dumbest headline I’ve read in a LONG time. While Southwest deserves a lot of criticism for the changes it’s made to booking flights and its rewards program, this change is actually very positive. Southwest is introducing even more international flights, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, we don’t know which destinations they’ll fly to. But with the extended range of the 737s, it could very well reach Ireland, South America, and several other destinations that I’d love to visit. What do you think about this move?

Amtrak Is Introducing Faster High-Speed Trains This Month.
Train travel is an important part of the travel world. It reduces congestion on the highways and keeps prices down on flights. And I love that you can get on & off at numerous stations along the way or stand up and move around the train cars at any point during the ride. Plus, there are no TSA security lanes or metal detectors that you have to go through. With Amtrak launching new, high-speed trains, train travel is even more appealing. Would you travel by train if a high-speed rail option was available?
Cambria Hotels expands in four states.
When thinking about Choice Privileges and its various brands, your mind probably thinks about its budget brands first. While those are still a big portion of its portfolio, the hotel chain has been heavily investing in higher-end, luxury properties under the Cambria Hotels brand. We have one here in Nashville, and it is really nice and located close to Broadway. With these new locations in California, Florida, Massachusetts, and Oregon, the Cambria brand now has over 70 properties to stay at. Plus, there are more than 60 Cambria properties under construction, including in Times Square, Fort Worth, and its first Canadian location (Thunder Bay, Ontario).
Come for the Amenity Kits, Stay for the Flight.
One of the benefits of flying in Business or First Class is the amenity kits that each passenger receives. They typically include an eye mask, toothbrush and toothpaste, socks, and more. Airlines have continued to enhance their amenity kit offerings by partnering with luxury brands in the health & wellness sector. While they obviously want to woo wealthy passengers, they also want the attention of social media influencers who encourage aspirational travelers to book flights using airline miles, flexible points, or cold hard cash. What’s your favorite airline amenity kit?
