How an AirTag Saved One United Flyer’s Luggage.
I recently bought AirTags before a recent trip to Spain. When we landed in Madrid, our bags did not. By using the AirTags in both pieces of checked bags, I could track them down to JFK. And I monitored their progress from the Madrid airport to our hotel when they arrived in Spain the next day. So many tech “solutions” don’t live up to the hype, but I’m now a huge believer in AirTags. Grab a 4-pack from Amazon (affiliate link) for around $100.
Visiting a national park this summer? Better plan ahead.
National Parks are one of the most amazing destinations in the U.S. They are cheap (sometimes free) and encourage families to explore the outdoors when so much of our lives are spent in front of a screen. If you’re planning on visiting a National Park this summer, I highly encourage you to plan ahead to secure your reservations. The parks may be packed and some will sell out. Two of my recent favorites are Yellowstone National Park and Mammoth Caves National Park.
Southwest provides points; extends elite status and Companion Pass for select travelers.
Southwest Airlines royally messed up when it experienced a meltdown over the holidays. While some of it was beyond their control (weather, sick employees), much of the cause lays squarely on their shoulders. They relied on antiquated employee scheduling software for far too long, and they foolishly sent out letters to ground crew staff essentially abolishing sick time off without a doctor’s note. I’m not sure if 25,000 points (~$375) and refunds are enough to satisfy affected travelers, but it sure is a good step in the right direction. What do you think?
12 Private Islands You Can Rent Without Being Rich.
Call your friends or start a group chat. It’s time to book some incredible private islands for about the cost of an above-average resort. While I typically have trouble getting 10+ friends to agree on anything, I think they might finally say “yes” when I show them these destinations. Which one is your favorite?
These Are Our Favorite Travel TikToks From 2022 — Genius Hacks and Must-have Products Included.
While I used to think TikTok was just a bunch of people doing lame dances, the platform has evolved to be pretty useful. There are some good tips on this list. My favorite is the fun game that a couple plays to pick where they’ll travel next. Do you have any TikTok’ers that you follow? PS: You can follow me at Bald Thoughts.
