American Airlines launches new status challenge for select Delta and United elites.
Yet another airline is targeting Delta after its disastrous rollout of changes to its loyalty program and elite status qualification. The changes were so bad that the Delta CEO was forced to backtrack on some of the “updates.” If you have Delta or United elite status, take advantage of this AA promo if you have flights coming up.
Marriott announces updates to Suite Night Awards starting Jan. 2024 — including new brands, expanded inventory and shorter confirmation window.
Marriott is not only changing the name of Suite Night Awards (SNAs), it’s also changing how they work. The biggest change is that Marriott Bonvoy members can now use them at five new brands – The Ritz-Carlton, Edition Hotels, Aloft, Element and Protea Hotels – that weren’t previously eligible. Marriott is also expanding which rooms you can use these upgrades by adding approximately 20% more eligible rooms.
Ski season has officially started: 1st US ski resort is now open.
Although I hate it when it gets cold in Nashville, I love hitting the slopes with my IKON Pass. It’s barely November, and the first ski resort has already opened for the season. Get your skis and snowboards ready, it’s going to be an awesome winter.

Reduced travel demand, more airlines offering new routes and a new airport in Tulum are all good signs if you love visiting Mexico. We visit Mexico at least once a year, so this is excellent news for our family.

As my contender for understatement of the year, Marriott isn’t very good about honoring SNA’s. For all the talk about how this will improve things for the guest I’d say talk is cheap, whiskey costs money.
I agree. I’ve had mixed experiences using SNAs in the past. Fingers crossed that they work as advertised moving forward.
It would help if Mexico lowered their 60 dollar “departure fee” on airfare.
Yeah, those fees really drive up the cost of booking award tickets to Mexico. But, since they don’t charge the $5.60 for domestic flights like we do here in the U.S., they have to get their money from somewhere. Like a lot of destinations (looking at you LHR!!!), they stick it to tourists rather than their own people.
