As a Diamond Hilton Honors member, my first choice is to stay at Hilton properties to use the benefits and renew my status. When I visited Mexico City a few weeks ago, there weren’t any Hilton hotels available for point redemption. Looking for another option, I searched Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) hotels and found the Le Meridien at an incredible rate. Here is why you should consider the Le Meridien Mexico City during your next visit to Mexico’s capital.

Le Meridien Mexico City
When planning my Mexico City weekend, I came across the Le Meridien Mexico City hotel for only $107 a night. It was during one of their promotions and knew this was a steal, as most nights go for $175.

The hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport, so it was very convenient for my quick getaway trip to Mexico City. However, when planning your return to the airport, consider the Mexico City traffic and plan for it to take up to 45 minutes.
Le Meridien Mexico City Check-In
The front desk is located on the 2nd floor, but there are no signs to direct you to it. There was no hotel staff on the first floor to greet or help with any questions when I arrived. On the bright side, there is a bar located to the right of the entrance. However, it was closed when I arrived.
Le Meridien Mexico City Classic Suite
The Le Meridien Classic Suite comes with a queen size sofa bed. The living room offered 32″ TV. I thought it was fairly small compared to other Hilton properties, which usually offer a 42″ screen or larger.
The sofa and chairs were comfortable to lounge and relax in.
Le Meridien Mexico City Classic Suite Bathroom
The bathroom was spacious and the bathtub long enough for a 6’5 person like myself to fit in comfortably. Standard amenities were provided, (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion). Upon request, you could order a tooth brush and tooth paste to be delivered to your room.
Le Meridien Mexico City Classic Suite Bedroom
Le Meridien Mexico City Classic Suite has a king size which was wonderful to stretch out in. The mattress was very comfortable and not too firm. The sheets under the blanket were 250 thread count, making it that much harder to get out of the bed in the morning.
Another 32″ LCD was located in my bedroom so that I could fall asleep while catching up on sports highlights. I found it to be too small for comfortable viewing when it was so far away from the bed. I swear I have 20/20 vision!
The Bald Thoughts
The Le Meridien Mexico City Classic Suite was very pleasant, and I found it refreshing staying at another hotel chain. I get used to the perks of being a Diamond Hilton Honors member, and I forget what other chains offer. The Le Meridien Mexico City hotel location had everything within walking distance. The hotel location was a 5 min walk towards the Monumento a la Revolución, half a mile from the Angel of the Independence, and one mile from Zocalo. I love getting lost in the city while exploring different local attractions and soaking in the culture.
Very nice! We were just in Mexico City a couple of weeks ago. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Centro Histórico. How did you like CDMX?
Hi Antonio, Thanks for commenting. I actually stayed there the following night using my Hilton points. For 10,000 points a night, it was much better than spending another $110 a night at the Le Meridien.
What camera did you use?
I used a Canon G7X Mark II.I love this camera for my short weekend travels for the compact size and excellent quality.
