Delta Airlines recently switched terminals at LAX to provide less congestion for its customers and improve their overall experience when flying out of LAX. They now join their Sky Team partner Aeromexico in Terminal 2 and 3. This change has open several more gates for Delta to operate daily. With the change of terminals, also comes a change in the Delta Sky Club lounge at LAX. The new Delta Sky Club lounge LAX in Terminal 2 used to be an Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge. I personally never got to experience the Air Canada lounge prior to the Delta takeover to really know how much different it was.

The Delta Sky Club Lounge LAX in Terminal 2 is located on the second floor as soon as you clear the TSA lines.  There is an elevator on the right side that takes you up or you could walk up using the stairs located next to the food court.

Normal operating hours are daily from 4:30 am to 1:00 am.

The new interior is very stylish and offers a wide range of different comfortable seating. It’s perfect for those who want to relax or just get some work done before their flight. The contrast of colors definitely provides a nice ambient warmth feeling during your stay.

The new Delta Sky Club Lounge has two service stations. One on the right when you walk in and the other is located on the left side towards the rear.

Delta Sky Club Lounge LAX Food and Beverage

The main food service bar is located on the right side of the lounge. The second service station which is located towards the rear of the lounge. It has mostly small snacks and a liquor selection.

Not only is the new Delta Sky Club Lounge in Terminal 2 more spacious than the previous one, it offers better food options and a bigger drink selection. I’m a big fan of this as I was getting tired of the same menu when going to the Delta Sky Club Lounge in Terminal 5.

How to get in the Delta Sky Club Lounge LAX for free?

There are a few ways to gain free access to the Delta Sky Club Lounge LAX. One of them is being a credit card holder, either the American Express Delta Reserve or Platinum Bussiness card will get you through the doors. Another way is if you have Diamond Medallion status, you automatically get a year membership for Delta Sky Club lounges. Lastly, if you’re en route to an international destination and are at least a Delta Gold Medallion or you have Sky Team Elite Plus status from a Sky Team partner.

If none of the above apply to you, then you can expect to pay a $59 for a one time visit.  If you have the American Express Delta Platinum or Gold credit card, a reduced fee of $29 is available for cardholders per one time visit.

The Bald Thoughts

Delta has invested millions of dollars in the LA market, and we’re starting to see results. For Delta Medallion members, the new Delta Sky Club Lounge LAX in Terminal 2 is a huge upgrade from the small crowded Delta Sky Club lounge. This is especially true during peak hours in Terminal 5.

The self-pour beer taps and premium liquor bottles are a nice touch than the previous bar had, in addition to a wider selection of food and snacks. For most Delta frequent flyers departing or connecting through LAX, the new lounge will be a popular stop before embarking on your final destination.
