Why Is It So Hard to Sleep While Traveling?
I used to travel to explore and would exhaust myself trying to squeeze out every ounce of excitement and adventure. Now, I’m all about sleeping in and enjoying the moments as much as possible. I still want to explore cities, meet new people, and experience the city, but I’m much more mindful about it. But, as hard as I try, sometimes it is hard to sleep while traveling. Do you have the same issue?
A Conrad resort is coming to Los Cabos.
The Conrad brand from Hilton Hotels & Resorts is known for its luxury accommodations and superb service. Hilton Honors members will love being able to earn and redeem points (including free night certificates) when staying at this property in Los Cabos, Mexico. It should debut in 2027 as part of the Oleada Pacific Living & Golf resort complex.
Nationwide Hotel Worker Strikes Have Come to an End.
Workers at select hotels across the U.S. have been on strike since Labor Day 2024. Their strike came to an end last week when workers at Hilton hotels in San Francisco approved a new union contract. I respect their decision to strike, and I’m glad they got a new contract that was approved by almost 100% of their union. This is welcome news for travelers whose travel plans have been affected over the last three months. Hopefully, management will make smarter decisions in the future to avoid additional strikes.
U.S. Hotels May Have Hit Occupancy Ceiling in 2024.
Even though travel has returned and, in some cases, exceeded prior estimates, U.S. hotel occupancy was 3% lower in 2024 than it was in 2019. It seems that business travelers are part of the problem. While they “used to book rooms for days or weeks at a time,” they’re now “taking shorter trips because of hybrid work.” I’m hopeful that these occupancy issues will bring down prices and encourage promotions where travelers can earn points/status more quickly.
