When I’m shuffling between picking the kids up from school, taking them to practice, and all my other “Dad” duties, I need something to stay hydrated. Especially when I get a few moments where I can hit the gym or go for a run. But I also want it to taste yummy and be good for me. When BODYARMOR approached me about working together to review their BODYARMOR Sports Drink, I happily agreed.
Please note that this is a sponsored post with BODYARMOR. All opinions are 100% mine, and I wouldn’t recommend any products that I haven’t tried myself.

What is BODYARMOR Sports Drink?
BODYARMOR Sports Drink is a coconut water-based drink that is designed for athletes and people on the go. It comes in 16 and 28-ounce bottles to keep you refreshed during your workouts, when playing sports, or hiking with the family.
As I was doing my research on BODYARMOR, I came across this Fortune Magazine article from 2015. I was intrigued that one founder, Mike Repole, had started Vitaminwater and the other founder, Lance Collins, created Fuze Beverage.
The company doesn’t pay athletes to endorse their products. Instead, the athletes take an equity share in the company. Some of the athletes are the who’s who of professional sports:
- Kobe Bryant, retired Lakers superstar
- Rob Gronkowski, Patriots tight end
- Mike Trout, Angels center fielder
- Richard Sherman, 49ers cornerback (Seahawks at the time of the article)
- Andrew Luck, Colts quarterback
Athletes that excel at the professional level are looking for every edge that they can. Knowing that they won’t put anything harmful into their bodies gives me a bit of reassurance for me and my kids drinking BODYARMOR Sports Drink.
What’s inside BODYARMOR?

BODYARMOR Sports Drink Review
AKA – Do my kids like it? And do I like it?
As part of my review, I received a 6-pack of the Strawberry Banana flavor. It’s almost like BODYARMOR was reading my mind because of the 12 flavors, this one would be my favorite choice.
As a Dad, I’m concerned about what I drink because I know the kiddos will want some too. We don’t drink soda and keep sugary juices to a minimum. I like that BODYARMOR Sports Drink has no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners.
But just because something is good for you, doesn’t mean that I’d want to drink it while working out or on a hot, sunny day. It has to taste great and be refreshing.

The Bald Thoughts
Before receiving this BODYARMOR Sports Drink sample, I had never tried coconut water before. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but all I could taste was the strawberry and banana. There was no coconut aftertaste. And that’s a good thing because I normally don’t like coconut.
We tried a few bottles while kicking the soccer ball in front of my house and also at my kids’ soccer practice in the blazing midday summer heat. The BODYARMOR Sports Drink was refreshing and helped keep up hydrated. Personally, I wouldn’t only drink these when working out or playing sports, but they are a good mix of flavor and electrolytes in between gulps of water.
With the variety of flavors and good taste, I can see bringing a few bottles of BODYARMOR on our next road trip or a hike in the local mountains. It has the flavor of smoothies that both my kids and I like.
Way to sell out.
How is doing a sponsored post featuring something I drink anyway worse than constantly promoting yet another credit card offer?
Makes me sad that so many of these great drinks are being made with coconut! One sip could kill me… allergic! Could you ask them to try a new recipe that is coconut free?
Total bummer that you’re allergic. I’ll mention it to them that they should look at other fluids due to allergies. Before BODYARMOR, I had never tried coconut water because it didn’t really appeal to me. When I bought one the first time, I couldn’t taste the coconut, and only after I started working with them did I realize it was coconut water.
Great review! I love BODYARMOR
Thanks, Mel. What’s your favorite flavor?
i like lemonade
Sounds like my kids would get along with you. They drink either milk or lemonade with almost every meal.
