Why You Should Never Put Your Clothes in a Hotel Dresser, According to a Doctor.

No matter how clean the hotel room is, there is ZERO chance that I’ll ever put anything inside the dresser. I keep my clothes in my suitcase at all times, unless I’m hanging them in the closet or the bathroom. The Doctor has a good point: Bed bugs aren’t just found in beds. They can be in the furniture, on nightstands, and in all manner of hiding spots. Be vigilant when traveling to avoid nasty surprises.

How Your Favorite Airports Are Paying Homage to Local Businesses and Culture.

One of the biggest reasons Kimpton is my favorite hotel brand is how they repurpose historic buildings and incorporate local history into the decor. I’m excited to see this trend spread to airports. It offers a unique atmosphere and promotes a deeper connection to the city.

7 Bad Travel Habits and How to Quit Them.

I agree with these habits, but one that’s missing is being too frugal. While the article mentions “not splurging when you should,” they’re talking about transportation and hotel location. For me, the biggest issue is not spending on once-in-a-lifetime experiences while you’re on the trip. I love saving money using miles & points to travel, that way I have money available to splurge on unique experiences that I normally would shy away from. For example, when Anna and I visited Sydney, walking on the Habour Bridge was quite expensive (and even more when buying their pictures). However, since we used travel rewards to book the trip, we paid the money because we would have kicked ourselves for not climbing the bridge when we had the chance.

ASTA submits views on airline competition to DOJ.

While deregulation of the airline industry in the 1970s was supposed to spark more competition, lately, it has led to even less. In a bid to reduce competition and reduce costs, airlines have merged relentlessly over the last couple of decades. This reduces consumer choice and allows airlines to raise prices. Plus, they can offer lower levels of service since you have fewer choices to switch to.

FAA Awards $332M In Grants For Airport Modernization.

It’s no secret that U.S. airports pale in comparison to what we experience when traveling internationally. The Federal government is finally doing something about it over the past four years. Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, billions of dollars have been spread across the U.S. to catch up with other countries. In the latest moves, the FAA awarded $332 million in grants to 171 airports to modernize the airports and air traffic control systems. While this averages out to ~$2 million per airport, it is a good move in the right direction.
