The Morning Shave
It’s not as bad as you think: 6 reasons I’m happy booking a windowless ‘inside’ cabin on a cruise ship.
It’s been a long time since I’ve taken a cruise, so help me out with this one. When you’re on a cruise, you’re constantly eating, taking offshore excursions, and partaking in all of the amenities. In other words, you’re barely in your room long enough to sleep, shower, and change clothes. Does having a window really mean that much when you’re on a cruise?
Airport Lounges Will Soon Be Far More Difficult To Access.
Hanging out in an airport lounge is one of my favorite activities while traveling. I enjoy the comfortable seating, free food & drinks, and dedicated WiFi for lounge guests. However, it can be frustrating when lounges turn guests away or when it’s too crowded to find a seat. Airlines and lounge operators are taking action to reduce overcrowding and make the experience more enjoyable for their best customers.
How to Negotiate An Airplane Seat Swap Like A Boss.
With so many airlines charging for seat assignments, travelers often roll the dice and hope for the best so they can sit next to their friends/family on the flight. As much as I love my wife, I’m fine if we can’t sit next to each other for a few hours. But I’m not ok with being separated from my kids on a flight. Real ID Enforcement for Flying Date is Firm – May 7.
If you’re like me, you’ve put off getting a Real ID because the deadline keeps getting pushed back. Well, the date is now firmly set for May 7, 2025. Gather all of your supporting docs and book an appointment at your local DMV to get your Real ID. Otherwise, you’ll need to travel with your passport or other acceptable ID, even when flying domestically.
The U.S. State Department Suspends Passport Applications With This Marker — Here’s What Every Traveler Needs to Know.
Speaking of passports, new rules are being set by the new administration that impact some travelers’ passports. If your passport application has this marker, it has been suspended. And I can imagine the validity of existing passports will soon be affected. So, take steps now to secure your rights and figure out a path forward for yourself under the new rules.

On the window debate I think there are a lot of variables. If it’s a Caribbean cruise and I’ve seen the ports before then it’s a lot less compelling to have a window while a river cruise on the Danube would pretty much necessitate a window or balcony with so much nice scenery all the time. There’s other considerations of course like the fact that inside cabins tend to be smaller, ship size, cabin location, etc.
Yes, I can definitely see the value of windows (or a balcony) on a river cruise. But on a major ocean liner, I think it is more of a “nice to have” vs. a “must have.” I didn’t realize that interior cabins tend to be smaller.
