The Morning Shave

Gift card reselling? Proceed with caution. – I do some gift card reselling on occasion.  With these recent stories, I’m glad that I’ve taken a break from it recently.  A good lesson that risky behavior is good when things are going well, but absolutely horrible when things go bad.

Stay at a Kimpton Property and Earn 10,000 Bonus IHG Points. – Sadly, I wasn’t targeted for this promotion.  IHG probably already knows that I’m a huge Kimpton fanboy.  If you’re eligible to receive the 10K IHG points for a stay at Kimpton, I encourage you to try the brand.  You’ll totally love them!  And tell them that Lee sent you.  If you’re on the fence, check out some of my recent Kimpton posts so you can see why they’re my favorite.

How to Pack Lighter, Smarter, and Faster, According to T+L Editors. – Some pretty good tips here.  I tend to fold on the way to my destination, then roll on the way home so that I’ll have extra room for souvenirs and other goodies I pick up along the way.

Airlines Renew Investments in Lounge Experience. – I love this renewed focus on airport lounges.  And airlines aren’t the only ones getting into the game.  American Express is making a big push to add new lounges, and independent companies are expanding as well.  Even in airports that most wouldn’t think are large enough for a lounge.  For example, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Reno Airport Escape Lounge during a recent trip to Lake Tahoe for snowboarding.

An End to Airline Red Tape—Or Consumer Protection? – These proposed rule changes should totally scare you.  So many of the protections we’ve been blessed with over the past decade are in danger of being eliminated.  Some rules do go too far, but others are necessary to ensure a pleasant travel experience.
