Kimpton Glover Park Hotel
The Kimpton Glover Park Hotel is unlike the other Washington, DC area Kimpton properties. Instead of being located in the city center, Glover Park is a short Uber ride away in Georgetown. The hotel is perched on a hill in Upper Northwest. It is located at 2505 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007.
This hotel offers a variety of room options across its 154 rooms. True to Kimpton style of each location having a unique feel, the decor “pays homage to nearby Rock Creek Park with décor details like hues of green, stenciled plants and historical images and maps.” Many rooms have views of Rock Creek Park or the bright lights of Washington, DC.
From what I can tell, all of the rooms at Glover Park are all the same size at 400 square feet. The rooms are configured to either have a King bed or two Queens. The rooms were recently remodeled and now boast Tempurpedic beds! Some rooms include a kitchenette, which offers some conveniences of home, like a microwave, toaster, mini-fridge, and coffee maker.

Casolare Ristorante + Bar
Casolare is located in the lobby of the Kimpton Glover Park Hotel. It is Michael Schlow’s newest destination restaurant in Washington, DC. The cuisine is Italian, with a wide selection of seafood, wood-fired pizzas, and antipasti. Usually, with the Inner Circle free night, you receive a $50 dining credit for the on-site restaurant, but Casolare is not participating in this promotion.
On the plus side, Inner Circle members also receive a Chef’s Taste whenever they stay with Kimpton and eat at the hotel’s restaurant. In the past, we’ve received some delicious appetizers like Ahi Poke at Zimzala or a plate of Sushi at Brandon’s.
How to stay at The Kimpton Glover Park Hotel for free
All Kimpton Inner Circle members are offered a window of time, shortly after a new hotel opens, in which they can stay at the new property for free. I’ve used this benefit numerous times, including The Goodland near Santa Barbara, The Palladian in Seattle, The Shorebreak in Huntington Beach, and Hotel Tomo in San Francisco. We recently used this benefit at The Kimpton Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa, where we had a great experience over Labor Day Weekend.
The Kimpton Glover Park Hotel free night benefit is available through April 30, 2017. I booked my free night to coincide with my planned trip to Washington, DC for the BoardingArea blogger conference (aka BACON) the first weekend of November 2016. The Tempurpedic bed was just as wonderful as the commercials make them seem. I highly recommend it… and I may just buy one when it is time to switch out the mattress at home!
Space is limited for these benefits, so don’t delay in reserving your free room. Unfortunately, you cannot make these reservations online. Call the Inner Circle VIP Reservation line at 866-424-7667 to book your room.
I love staying at Kimpton properties, especially when they’re free!
More free nights coming soon from Kimpton!
Kimpton is also currently offering free nights at the following resorts:
- Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa in Palm Beach, FL through Nov 30, 2016

- Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa through April 30, 2017
- Kimpton Mason & Rook Hotel in Washington, DC through April 30, 2017
- The Kimpton Gray Hotel in Chicago, IL through April 30, 2017
More properties will be opening soon, and their free night should be available about 6 months after opening:
- Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- Denver, CO
- Nashville, TN
- Sacramento, CA
- Palm Springs, CA
- Bellevue, WA
- Tempe, AZ
I’ll definitely be taking advantage of as many of these as I can!
But what if I’m not Kimpton Inner Circle?
Kimpton Inner Circle is earned by having 14 eligible stays or 40 eligible nights within a calendar year. Kimpton often runs promotions where you receive double credit for stays, so you can become Inner Circle in as little as 7 different stays!
I’ve been able to get 3 free nights after 10 one-night stays with Kimpton’s lucrative loyalty program. Read here to see how I did it.
I became an Inner Circle member through a status match as a Hilton Diamond. With a status match, you need to stay a specific number of nights before you are eligible for the new hotel free night benefit.
From what I understand, Kimpton is no longer offering status matches effective January 1, 2016, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
The Bald Thoughts
Regardless of which party you supported during the election, Washington, DC is a truly memorable place to visit. You can easily spend days, if not weeks, meandering through the countless museums and monuments in complete awe. When you visit our nation’s capital, the Kimpton Glover Park Hotel should definitely be on your list of hotels to consider.
If you have top-tier Inner Circle status, you have an opportunity to stay at new properties for free shortly after they open. The Kimpton Glover Park Hotel free night benefit is available until April 30, 2017, so call to book your reservation now. If you aren’t a Kimpton Karma member, I encourage you to research the program to see how it fits into your travel plans.
Totally seizing on what was probably just a passing comment, but I caught the mention of the Tempurpedic. My wife and I bought one several years ago. We actually found a store about 90 miles from home that sells scratch n’ dent furniture and they sell damaged packaging mattresses. We got a Tempurpedic Cloude Luxe with a split box and a couple of pillows for a heck of a lot less than the regular mattress stores charge. It was absolutely amazing for all of Year 1. It remained very good for a good while beyond that — but, over time, the “wow” factor has faded. My wife is now regularly waking up sore and we are contemplating a new mattress. I say that because it’s a huge purchase if you pay retail price. We paid nowhere near retail, so I won’t cry myself to sleep when we replace it — but I would if we had paid full sticker. Just my $0.02. Thanks for the Kimpton review! I’m not going to do 55 nights at a Hyatt Place to requalify for Hyatt, so Kimpton is looking better and better lately!
Nico, thanks for the 4-1-1 on the Tempurpedic mattresses. Such a shame if that’s really the norm, especially considering how expensive they are! Maybe you need to treat them like an expensive sports car…fun to use, but let someone else own them.
As for Kimpton vs Hyatt, if you book at the right times of year, you can become Inner Circle (top level) status with just 7 stays when booking during the Double Stay credit promos. The bad thing is that they only have about 70-80 locations right now, so nowhere near the same geographic coverage. However, you can always status match Kimpton’a Inner Circle to other programs as a way to short-circuit the process and keep more money in your pocket!
Have a great Veteran’s Day!
