The Morning Shave

The Slow Evolution of Economy Seats.

These changes are good and bad. While the changes are incremental, we aren’t seeing the massive shift to a “standing room only” scenario that you might find on the bus or a baseball stadium. I like that these seats are lighter (more efficient), and they’re designed to add more space at knee level. I still don’t plan on flying Spirit, but I look forward to other airlines incorporating some of these designs.

Where to next? 5 European destinations that JetBlue might add.

With its introduction of Paris flights to accompany flights to London, JetBlue is making waves in the transatlantic market. This has many people talking about where they may fly next to continue its route expansion. Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, or Lisbon would be amazing. But I think Rome might be too much of a stretch at this point. What are your thoughts?

Your Questions About Online Passport Renewal, Answered.

Passport wait times are stretching out to 2 to 3 months for regular processing and 5 to 7 weeks for expedited processing. If you’re looking to travel this summer, you need to get started on your passport renewal now. My son’s passport is expiring this year, but he’s not eligible for online renewal because he’s too young. The good news is that travelers 25 and older can use online renewal to speed up the process. Here’s what you need to know.

Carry-On Travel Is Not a Goal of Mine.

There are several great divides in travel, such as reclining seats, miles & points vs. cash, and carry-on vs. checked luggage. While I’m firmly on #TeamCarryon for most flights, I can see the allure of checking bags. This is especially true when traveling with small children or on longer trips. But when I’m going for a weekend getaway, there’s no way I want to deal with the hassle of lost or delayed bags when I’m only in town for 24-48 hours. What are your thoughts?

Why You Should Always Pack a Second Bag in Your Carry-On.

I always bring a collapsable bag with me on trips. It makes it easier to carry smaller items to the beach, store, or other activities. Also, it provides extra room to bring home souvenirs if I can’t fit everything into my primary bag. Just make sure that the bag is small enough to fit under the seat in front of you on your return flight so you can easily bring it onboard.
