The ultra-luxurious hotel at the Palace of Versailles is now open. – I’ve been to the Palace of Versailles and it is incredibly opulent. Buildings like this are not created any longer in today’s society. Previously, you could only visit during operating hours, but now you can book a stay at the on-site hotel and receive exclusive access to the grounds as a guest. Truly a bucket list idea… with a major price tag.
What to Pack for a Family Beach Trip, According to Well-Traveled Parents. – There are so many ingenious items on this list. I really like the Family Basecamp pop-up that provides enough shade for the entire family, yet folds down really easily and is very compact. Taxis are back in vogue as Uber and Lyft shortage continues. – Many of us are now conditioned to think about ridesharing apps first and completely ignore taxis. But, with prices surging and a shortage of drivers, taxis seem to be making a comeback. Are you ready to give taxis a try again?
You Can Lose Global Entry For Complaining About A CBP Officer. – I love using Global Entry to skip airport security lines in the U.S. and expedite customs when returning from international travel. Many credit cards even reimburse the fees to join! In many ways, getting approved for Global Entry is a bit of a black box. And you can lose your Global Entry for mundane reasons, including (apparently) complaining about one of its officers. Sometimes it is just better to keep quiet and move along.
The Tell That American AAdvantage Will Devalue When It Eliminates Award Charts. – When other legacy airlines have already eliminated award charts and devalued their programs, it was just a matter of time before American Airlines followed suit. However, that doesn’t make it sting any less. If you’re sitting on a pile of AA miles, now may be the time to book some flights before they make these moves.

I think that American’s move is very shortsighted. From what I’ve read they get more credit card spend on their cards than any other airline, so why would they want to move toward the average? I’m not sure that making moves that are all but certain to make their most engaged customers unhappy is a prudent business move, particularly since AAdvantage is the only profitable part of the company. Don’t play with hand grenades on your lifeboat in the middle of the ocean.
I agree. Since everyone else eliminated award charts, being the only domestic airline with an award chart is a competitive advantage and attracts more customers.
