The Morning Shave

What Is the Safest Hotel Floor to Stay On? – Depending on where I’m traveling, I usually pick a top-floor room to have better views of the city or the natural beauty of the destination. I avoid the first and second floors for safety & security reasons. If you value safety above all else, this article tells you which floors to pick on your next hotel stay.

12 hotels with the best lazy rivers to beat the heat and float away. – With the summer heat ratcheting up, dipping into the lazy river at a hotel is one of the most fun ways to cool off. You can chill out and let the current take you or play bumper car with the inflatables. Lazy rivers are definitely one of our favorite hotel amenities.

Despite Inflation and Rising Costs, Travel Is Still Top-of-Mind for U.S. Consumers. – While inflation may change where you go or what you do while on vacation, it won’t stop most people from traveling this summer. Some families may cut back on activities, while others will opt for driving or train travel instead of flying. There are plenty of ways to save money on travel without having to eliminate your family vacation, including learning how to use miles & points to reduce travel costs.

Why You Should Check Your Passport’s Expiration Date Right Now. – After getting distracted in early 2020 (COVID, Nashville tornado), I let my daughter’s passport expire ahead of our Cabo trip. Sadly, she wasn’t able to go on the trip. So, now I’m focused on expiration dates and making sure that I get new passports well in advance of their end dates. Just remember to update your Global Entry when you get a new passport.

E-scooters were supposed to fix travel in Rome. Then they became a major problem. – As much as I love riding these e-scooters, too many people are irresponsible users. They ride them where they shouldn’t, let them fall over, or simply throw them in rivers & other bodies of water. As they say, “this is why we can’t have nice things.” I hope that cities and the scooter companies find ways to crack down on the bad actors so that those of us who enjoy them can continue enjoying their benefits.
