The Morning Shave

Chase Will Ban Third-Party Apps That Use Your Password To Screen Scrape Their Site. – Depends how Chase enacts this change, this can be a very good thing for consumer privacy. I use AwardWallet for all of my loyalty accounts, but I would feel much better if they only had access to my points’ balances instead of my entire banking relationship. Use my referral link if you’d like a free trial of the paid version of AwardWallet (new accounts only).

How Messy Should You Leave a Hotel Room? – Admit it, we’ve all left hotel rooms in pretty horrible shape at least once or twice. Trust me, it’s pretty easy to leave a Cat-5 Tornado disaster when you have a couple of kids with you. However, we should all have a little respect and make sure to keep the room in decent shape. It’s easy enough to throw trash away, put used towels in a pile, and wipe up after yourself.

Ingenious Packing Tips Every Traveler Should Know. – I’m usually pretty good about packing and having enough room for the return trip (including souvenirs and goodies I bought along the way). However, this last trip to Vermont and Toronto with Scarlett tested my boundaries. I was legit concerned that everything wasn’t going to fit and wondered which items might need to be left behind.

A Hotel Charged A Customer Perhaps The Most Outrageous Fee I’ve Ever Heard. Then The Customer Fought Back. – I hate all of the little ticky-tack fees that airlines and hotels charge. Sometimes those fees are so bad that you need to push back. Even if the fee is only $1.50. The madness has to stop! If we don’t fight the fees, the fees will keep coming. Kudos to this guy for winning the battle. PS: Avoid hotels like this that continue to charge BS fees like this.

From zero to hero on the status-match-go-round. – The loyalty industry is very competitive. Hotels and airlines want to win over the best clients from their competition, so they offer status matches to people with elite status. Use your existing status from travel or credit cards to match across a wide array of programs.
