The Morning Shave

Should airlines weigh all cabin bags to enforce the limits? – I think this matters when the plane is small, but for larger aircraft, a few people bringing heavy bags isn’t a problem. I rarely check a bag and my bag is NEVER under 7kg (about 15 pounds). I guess I’ll have to change my approach when I visit Australia.

Amtrak Is Having a 2-for-1 Sale on Private Roomettes So You and a Friend Can Cross the Country in Style – If you haven’t taken a long trip on a train, I highly recommend it. Our family took a two-day trip up the West Coast and over to Glacier National Park a couple of years ago. It was a lot of fun. Of course, we flew back because there was no need to take the train trip in reverse. It was a decision to spend an extra couple days in the national park and fly home.

“I Amsterdam” Sign Removed, City Wants To Slow Down Tourism. – It’s a shame when destinations get overrun by tourists, but at least it means that your city is attractive to travelers. Nobody has been complaining about all of the tourist money that funds their budget. As fun as taking a picture in front of the sign may be, nobody is traveling to Amsterdam just to take a picture in front of it.

AAA predicts record number of holiday travelers. – If you’re traveling over the holidays, prepare yourself. Even Global Entry and TSA PreCheck may not save you from long lines. I use CLEAR to help skip airport lines. You can try it for free with my referral link.

Best things to do in Austin, Texas. – Have you been to Austin recently? It is the live music capital of the world and they have some amazing BBQ! I flew through Austin yesterday on the way back from Cancun. Anna and I chowed down on some Salt Lick BBQ at the airport. The pulled pork quesadilla was delicious.
