With the Kimpton Aertson Hotel, Kimpton is expanding with its first resort in Tennessee.  I’ve heard so many great things about the music and food scene in Nashville, that I just can’t wait for our upcoming free night at Kimpton Aertson in Nashville.  As an Inner Circle member, you now have the ability to book your free night at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel.

The Kimpton Aertson Hotel

The Kimpton Aertson Hotel is located Midtown between Downtown Nashville and Vanderbilt University, so the 180 guest rooms enjoy views in either direction.  The Kimpton Aertson Hotel’s “industrial-chic design celebrates Nashville innovation with steel and stone, concrete and Carrara, and commissioned artwork everywhere you turn.”  The hotel is located at 2021 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203.

I love the back story detailing how the Kimpton Aertson Hotel was named and ties the hotel into the local culture and history.  Jan Aertson was a Dutch immigrant whose descendant Cornelius Vanderbilt rose to fame and fortune and

Standard rooms have 7 configurations ranging from 290 to 380 square feet – King, Queen Queen Deluxe, Skyline King, Skyline Queen Queen, King Premier, Queen Queen Premier, and King Executive.  And there are 5 suite styles with the King Spa Suite topping out at 712 square feet.  The Kimpton Aertson Hotel also offers 7 accessible rooms with styles ranging from Corner King to King Spa Suite for those that need a little help.

As usual, the Kimpton Aertson Hotel is pet-friendly, so there’s no need to leave Fido at home.

On the 8th floor, there is a zero-edge entry pool surrounded by cabanas, lounge chairs, and an outdoor living room.  Due to weather, the pool is open seasonally from April through October.  The pool closes on November 6, 2017, and will reopen April 2, 2018.  Total bummer for us, because the pool will have just closed a days before we arrive.

A fitness center and day spa are also on-site to help you stay fit and healthy.  And if you don’t want to venture out of your room for a workout, The Kimpton Aertson Hotel offers the usual Kimpton amenity of yoga mats in every room.

The Kimpton Aertson Hotel offers the following amenities:

  • Seasonal Rooftop Pool (open April – October)
  • Woodhouse Spa a 4,000-square-foot full-service spa
  • Onsite 24-hour fitness center
  • Luxury Atelier Bloem bath amenities
  • In-room dining
  • Valet parking

And the following amenities are always complimentary:

  • Loaner PUBLIC Bikes
  • Morning Coffee + Tea Service
  • Free WiFi (for Karma Rewards members)
  • Kimpton Kids Program
  • Pet-friendly accommodations – bring your loyal companion with you
  • Forgot It, We’ve Got It Amenities
  • A yoga mat in every room, free of charge.
  • Karma Rewards Loyalty Program

Henley Restaurant

Henley is the on-site bar and brasserie offering craft cocktails and modern Southern fare from James Beard-award winning chef RJ Cooper.  The restaurant is named after the “hardworking men of the early 1900s who wore collarless Henley shirts in defiance of the era’s plain, rigid wardrobe.”  Henley’s restaurant and bar are open daily, with brunch and a late night menu served on the weekends.

With the Inner Circle free night, you used to receive a $50 dining credit for the on-site restaurant, but that benefit was eliminated effective January 1, 2017.

On the plus side, Inner Circle members also receive a Chef’s Taste whenever they stay with Kimpton and eat at the hotel’s restaurant.  In the past, we’ve received some delicious appetizers like Ahi Poke at Zimzala or a plate of Sushi at Brandon’s.

The Kimpton Aerston Hotel free night

All Kimpton Inner Circle members are offered a window of time, shortly after a new hotel opens, in which they can stay at the new property for free.  I’ve used this benefit numerous times, including The Goodland near Santa Barbara, The Palladian in Seattle, The Shorebreak in Huntington Beach, and Hotel Tomo in San Francisco.  We recently used this benefit at The Kimpton Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa near Miami, the Kimpton Glover Park Hotel in DC, and the Kimpton Journeyman in Milwaukee.  And one of the best Kimpton free nights ever was at the Kimpton Seafire Resort in Grand Cayman Islands in April 2017.

The Kimpton Aerston Hotel free night benefit is available through January 31, 2018.  My family and I are looking forward to the opportunity to try out the latest Kimpton property and explore a city we’ve never been to.  Total win-win weekend!  In fact, Travel + Leisure named Nashville one of the top 50 places to visit in 2017.

Space is limited for these benefits, so don’t delay in reserving your free room.  Unfortunately, you cannot make these reservations online.  Call the Inner Circle VIP Reservation line at 866-424-7667 to book your room.

More free nights coming soon from Kimpton!

Unfortunately (at the time of publication), the free night at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel is the only free night available for Inner Circle members.  Some recent free nights were:

There are many Kimpton properties opening in 2017 and 2018, so stay on the lookout for more free nights.  Some upcoming properties include:

  • Hotel Born in Denver, CO
  • Everly Hotel in Los Angeles, CA
  • Sacramento, CA
  • Palm Springs, CA
  • Bellevue, WA
  • Tempe, AZ

I’ll definitely be taking advantage of as many of these as I can!

But what if I’m not Kimpton Inner Circle?

Kimpton Inner Circle is earned by having 14 eligible stays or 40 eligible nights within a calendar year.  Kimpton often runs promotions where you receive double credit for stays, so you can become Inner Circle in as little as 7 different stays!

I’ve been able to get 3 free nights after 10 one-night stays with Kimpton’s lucrative loyalty program.  Read here to see how I did it.

I became an Inner Circle member through a status match as a Hilton Diamond.  With a status match, you need to stay a specific number of nights before you are eligible for the new hotel free night benefit.  From what I understand, Kimpton is no longer offering status matches effective January 1, 2016, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

The Bald Thoughts

I’ve never been to Nashville, so this is a great opportunity for me and the family to explore the city.  While in town, we plan to attend a Tennessee Titans game, sample some local music, and savor some mouthwatering BBQ.  I just know it will be a very memorable long weekend getaway for Anna, the kids, and me!  We’re going to pair the free night with another paid night or two so that we have time to experience more of what Nashville has to offer.

If you have top-tier Inner Circle status, you have an opportunity to stay at new properties for free shortly after they open.  The Kimpton Aertson Hotel free night benefit is available until January 31, 2018, so call to book your reservation now.

If you aren’t a Kimpton Karma member, I encourage you to research the program to see how it fits into your travel plans.  I’ll be giving a presentation on Kimpton at the Chicago Seminars in October 2017.  Come learn about Kimpton and maybe you’ll be motivated to become a Kimpton Karma member so you too can enjoy some free Inner Circle nights.

  1. Totally love the Rooftop pool of the Kimpton Aertson! You know what sucks, is that with small chains like this, it’s not great to accumulate nights for stays in other worldwide hotels. This is the reason why I love loyalty groups like DISCOVERY Loyalty. It has many hotels from all around the world including independent big ones like Kempinski etc.

    • Yeah, as much as I love Kimpton, their limited footprint is a problem because they’re not available everywhere I travel. I maintain status with other hotels as a backup, but will almost always stay at a Kimpton if it is available and reasonably priced vs. the other options given how great they treat me as an Inner Circle member.

  2. This looks like a really awesome hotel to stay at! That pool is amazing and I’m sure the views are totally killer. I haven’t been to Tennessee before, but more and more lately it’s been on my mind. Maybe it’s time to start planning a trip! I’m not an Inner Circle member, but I think I’d love to look into staying at this hotel!

    • I like that the hotel is situated between the University and Downtown, so you have views of both from the hotel. I wish we were going just a couple weeks earlier so that the pool isn’t closed. I guess it means we’ll just have to come back!

  3. I’ve spent some time in Nashville, and we always have a great time. I will keep this hotel in mind. I really enjoy rooftop pools in cities; it makes me feel like a celebrity or something. Have fun! We really just enjoy walking around and listening to the live music on Saturday nights.

  4. I have always liked the Kimpton brand they are usually very unique hotels. I live Nashville so maybe next time in town I will check it out. Hope you have a great time in Nashville.

  5. Nice hotel to stay in! As for me, the rooftop pool will be the most attractive thing from this hotel. Not sure when would I visit Nashville.. when I do, this hotel worth to check.

  6. Complimentary loaner bikes? How awesome?! The pool also looks amazing. I haven’t been to Nashville in years with the exception of a layover. I definitely wouldn’t mind checking out that hotel.

  7. Kimpton Aertson in Nashville looks stunning. The rooftop pool looks absolutely great. I loved their free night policy for its members. I would love to have a stay experience whenever I travel next there.

  8. I love pet friendly accommodations! It’s very rare in this part of the world where I live (Dubai) and i wish they’d be more open to that idea. Also, it’s pretty cool that they provide bikes and yoga mats as well to their guests, free of charge. The room looks spacious and comfortable too.

    • Zero-edge pool means that it is more like walking into the ocean vs. the traditional step-down into the pool. Yes, being pet-friendly is a great perk from Kimpton. I’ve stayed at other, so-called, pet-friendly hotels and they end up charging a pet cleaning fee of $100! What’s up with that?
